Now the pump isn't working

I'm only 7 weeks post on Friday and already have had a wound infection, possible undersizing with floppy glan and this morning when trying to cycle the pump just decides to stay in the squeezed position.

I managed to get it back working after the 4th reset attempt but surely it shouldn't be reacting like that so soon. Am I being too harsh or do they all do that?

I do have a follow up with my consultant on Wednesday regarding the glans issue anyways but I have serious doubts about the whole thing right now.

This confuses me. I think few men report problems with their AMS pump. Some members seem to run pretty hard with the few credible reports.

I can't honestly say that mine has not worked perfectly every time. Right from the first use. When the nurse was giving me pumping lessons. I was hesitant to leave until I could reliably find the release button. Swelling made it a little hard for me to find it. She found it every time. Some experience on what it felt like solved my worries.

Like anything that is built there are tolerances to the fit of the parts. I think they are made "tight" to last as long as possible. That there is then a break in period. Or a wear in period. The thing is I think to use it like you stole it. You are not going to break it. Not that you should try to break it. Just don't be afraid that you will. Like GT1956 mine has not worked perfectly. I have had trouble with mine. And as AMS has that video with "fixes" will support that many others do also. So yes, you will expect more problems with the pump early on until it wears in, and you learn what you need to do to keep problems from happening.

As a side note the AMS reps have fixes not in that video. So, if the fixes in the video do not resolve a problem, then contact your rep that should be listed on your paperwork. They can and have resolved issues for men. I had one case of this.

Try cycling in a hot shower or bath/hot tub, hit the release button should feel a click, then squeeze that bulb firmly , seems to work for me every time especially when it is good and warmed up making it more pliable.

Check out my post "Can Someone Please Tell Me What the Fuck is Going On with my Fucking Implant." I'm four months post-op and my pump is buggy as all fuck. However, it still works. One user, whose been on this board for a decade, told me that it's nothing new and that I shouldn't sweat it. Even my doctor said that the AMS pumps can be "glitchy." Still doesn't help with any kind of anxiety issue one might have.

The Pump has always been very interesting. Of all the Implant processes, from surgery to healing, was on a 9 - 10 scale. But working with the Pump, including cycling, in the beginning was at best rated a 2. My Pump was hard as a ROCK. The AMS reps has a couple meetings / exams with me. They went into details how this Pump was suppose to work and function. Everything from starting FIRST with a warm hot shower on the balls to warm up the Pump. And solved my biggest fear, (YOU CAN'T HURT THIS THING), so Pump the damn thing. Don't be scared, like I was. Being a diabetic, I didn't want to damage anything, get an infection, or re-surgery. The AMS reps had me to feel the Pump and all the moving parts and how they worked. That gave me a lot of confidence and the Pumped worked like it was suppose too. Also, there were brothers in here, that help me to get use to this new device. Their advice, "In a few months, everything will be alright". And yes, they were right. Me at Post 8 months, and loving this thing. It's like having a new toy. Like they simply say, "Plug and Play", rather "Pump and Play".

Interesting story about the pump. I am also recently implanted and find it super difficult to pump. I need both hands and use all my strength and it takes forever.

how long did it take you to fully inflate back then and now? and can you do with 1 hand?

This! Yeah, I'm also terrified I'm gonna break the damn thing! But it's entering into hysteria: I'm afraid to even sneeze! I hope, in time, I'll learn to relax with this thing.
