Yes! I wholeheartedly agree!
While it's true that a small minority of people recover unusually quickly (and, sincerely, good for them!), they are most definitely not the norm. Far from it! I am incredibly grateful to have a urologist who is an honest and thorough communicator who fully prepared me for the reality of post-implant recovery. I wish more men had the opportunity to be fully informed before their procedure. Recovery, even without explicit complications, is often slow and painful. If men know what to reasonably expect in advance, then they aren't left feeling blindsided (or just straight up lied to) when they discover they are not one of the lucky few. I'm currently nine months post-op, and I consider my decision to join the Bionic Boys Club to be one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself. But that doesn't mean recovery was either quick or easy. It wasn't! And misleading men to believe they will be quickly leaping back into their normal routine is most definitely unhelpful. For the vast majority of men, that scenario is just not true.
To be clear, I have no desire to scare men away from treatment. If my implant ever fails, I will absolutely have a revision! But I firmly believe men should have fully informed reasonable expectations prior to making the decision.
