Why do even the new pumps seem like old technology ?

In doing my research to hopefully get implanted this year, the thing I've found that has bothered me the most is the pump. I'd say it's the thing I'm most worried about......it failing, being too hard, being too noticeable, or ending up in a bad location. Wish there was a pump that didn't have to be pumped manually, but was part of the reservoir and worked on 10 year battery ( like a pacemaker). And it could be pumped or deflated using Bluetooth from a phone app.

I don't like the idea of having more points of failure in my implant (batteries that need to be replaced, electronics), plus metal parts that will ring when i go to an airport, etc.

However. I would like to have the option for a pump that goes in a different location from the scrotum, like on the upper leg or the inner thigh, subcutaneously. A place someone would not normally be touching during sex. Particularly i like having girls kiss my balls and play with them during sex so i'd rater have the pump somewhere else if that would be possible.

I'm with you there. It seems like the pump could go anywhere. I guess that's the only place with loose skin though. Idk...a different design could allow it to go in a different place. I did have an awkward moment when preventing a woman to go down to the balls.

I think after the 1st year the pump becomes much less of an issue for most. You'll adapt to it's strengths rather than focusing on it's shortcomings.

Next time you visit your local neighborhood orgy, you'll come to appreciate your toy. Other guys will be constantly stroking their cocks to stay hard. You simply massage your scrotum for 20-30 seconds, and you're good to perform for the night.

There is a bluetooth pump in the works. I'm not going to stand in line for it. As others have stated, so many things that can go wrong. Once the app becomes popular, will it become a pay subscription? What would you pay to get access to your own dick? What if you loose bluetooth connection while inflating? Does your dick burst? Or you have to call IT support and have them reboot it. And would they need to login to your dick remotely to do that .

Don’t hold out for new tech.

If you need an implant now, get the implants available now.

Eventually if/when you get a revision get whatever tech is available then.


But in the meantime, get back in the saddle and get a full and active sex life again.

Yeah, my surgeon mentioned that Coloplast has some new revisions to their design coming, but also said it will probably be five years before they are available (slow FDA regulatory process I suspect). I'm not waiting that long!

Agreed. And I don’t want to be the first guy (or the first thousandth guy) having the new tech implanted in me. I don’t want to be the guinea pig for them to figure out the problems and refine their design.

Let someone else get the first year recalled model. I’ll get it once they have refined it and worked out the kinks.

Because it is old. Technology of ipp was designed in 1975. And since 1975 technology stay the same. Only minor improvements like different materials and so on.

It's more modern than aviation. Most small airplanes are flying around with engine designs from the 1930s...no electronics, mechanical ignitions, carbs with floats, air cooled...
