So tomorrow will the start of week 7. I had a Coloplast Titan One Touch installed via penoscrotal surgery.
Thanks to those who have responded to my earlier posts. I can feel I am continuing to heal but there is one main problem that has bothered me from very early on and that is how in order to wear underwear and trousers (even loose ones), my semi erect penis is tucked to the side or downwards (I cannot point it up as it hurts as though I am tugging a tight tube on the R side) and constantly pressing against my underwear.
After getting home from a few hours of driving / walking around my penis is swollen and painful. The swelling goes down after a few hours. I don’t experience this when I am in say a bathrobe all day so my penis is unencumbered. Have mentioned this to surgeon who says it is normal and I need to give it three months for things to settle down.
It is difficult for me to function like this though. I can’t go to the office, I am avoiding meeting friends and am not really getting much physical activity other than walking around the house.
It’s starting to have a real impact on my state of mind. Others have suggested I seek a second opinion and I intend to do so though I expect it will take a week or maybe two to arrange.
However - I haven’t really come across those with a similar problem to mine. Plenty of people who are conscious about the new bulge in their trousers or even some discomfort from wearing underwear / trousers.
But no one seems to complain of pain or swelling from wearing underwear / trousers.
My question for folks here is: is the pain and swelling I am experiencing normal?
7 weeks post op - still constant swelling and bruising from wearing underwear and loose bottoms - is this normal?

Is there any difference between wearing a lot of support (tight briefs or sports compression shorts or a jockstrap) verses no support (traditional boxers)?
56yo, NYC. ED started at 40. Pills, then shots for 10 years. 24cm Coloplast Titan w/classic pump by Dr Eid 3/25/2025. Will meet for show & tell.

I tend to wear briefs which are pretty supportive. Have also tried a jock strap and also tight boxers but still get bruising because my semi erect penis still needs to hang to the side or down and is basically compressed.
One thing that has changed is that my glans is no longer as sensitive so in the last few days I stopped wearing a baby sock over it.

Thanks - I see you had the op a few days ago. My problem is that even after starting to cycle 2 weeks ago I am still experiencing swelling / bruising / pain from wearing normal clothing (i.e. something other than a bathrobe!) nearly 7 weeks after the op.
I had thought I was not fully deflating but saw the surgeon last week who said I am deflating as much as I can but to me it still feels semi erect and the bruising is reinforcing this belief.

Coloplast cylinders are very stiff at the beginning. If your albuginea was a little scared it could be that.
Do you tried hot bath? As many tell it's a total reliev.
Otherwise maybe try to stay home some days without clothing to let your body heal

Hi
I’m at week 8 today. I’ve been living with doubts if my de flated penis really is deflated. I’m really small so it literally sticks straight out. It’s so uncomfortable. I’ve had two doctors deflate it but it’s still firm enough to penetrate for sex. I’m trying to keep a positive attitude that with time I’ll be able to make more adjustments. My healing has been slow and I’m still in pain although I’m improving. Good luck to you

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience m. I’ve read through your posts and I’m sorry to hear of your surgeon’s unpleasant bedside manner as well as the pain you are still going through this far into the process.
I’m also on the small side (was 5.5” before ED and after years of ED was measured and told to expect around 4.5”). My cylinders are 18 cm with 1 cm RTE so 19 cm in total and from the notes I see that my measurements taken by a furlow my measurements were dilated to 10 cm proximal and 9 cm distal on both sides. Similar to yours you mine also sticks out when deflated.
What sort of adjustments do you think might be possible? I didn’t think to ask if it has anything to do with my size but will certainly do this when I next speak with surgeon.
Perhaps they don’t want to say it’s due to my size as they maybe conscious I might find it embarrassing but at this point I don’t care - I just want some answers and realistic advice.
Please feel free to PM me if you’re more comfortable doing that.
Thanks again and best wishes.
Re: 7 weeks post op - still constant swelling and bruising from wearing underwear and loose bottoms - is this normal?
lifetimetmser, it's hard to say if its "normal" without knowing the source of the pain and swelling. That said, I had a rough recovery and could not start cycling until almost 8 weeks. In my case, I had a lot of bleeding, edema that went down my thighs past my knees, and a huge hematoma in my scrotum. All that resulted in lots of pain and swelling. Couldn't wear jeans for more that a few hours until week 10 or 11. But eventually the swelling went down and at 3+ months post-op things are close to normal. Best wishes for things to resolve that way, or faster, for you.

Are you on blood thinners or anything else that might make you more susceptible to bruising? If so, you might need to adjust your dose. Just a thought.
58yo Coloplast Titan implant scheduled for 10/23/2025 with Dr. Hakky. Pre-op erect measurements:
8.5"L and 6.5"C
