Hi, I will need a penile implant within the next 8 - 10 weeks.
I will probably be implanted within about 6 weeks, I'm guessing around end of June/start of July.
What is the recovery process generally like?
I can work from home on a laptop, I'm often on the phone.
How soon will I be able to sit into a 8 - 9 hour shifts on the laptop at home?
Also sometimes I'm on the road doing business meetings. How soon will I be able to get back out onto the road again, meeting and greeting people etc? When will I be able to return to the office? How long does it take to recover penis size and have fulfilling sex sessions again?
I understand there will be no beer gardens or fun parties this summer but I'll get over that.
I'm a fairly healthy active 34 year old (35 this year). I work full-time, walk every day, jog every 2 weeks, gym twice a week, swim sometimes, cycle 1-2 times a week etc. I have no disability or serious medical issues apart from the broken penis.
Implant Recovery Time
Re: Implant Recovery Time
Look up my name and there are lots of others laying out recovery. I'm 7 weeks out and work out 6x a week no issues
Believe post prostate surgery I was around 5 inches down from 6. Never measured girth but post titan otr 20 cm seems thicker.

Re: Implant Recovery Time
I was implanted 4/4/2025. I’m retired so I didn’t have to work, but I tried to write this from your perspective of a working person.
First four days, just stay in bed with ice packs always on your swollen package. I bought several large bags of frozen peas and used them continuously. I also was blessed with a gf who was willing to feed me and allow me to stay in bed the first few days. This is very important to do, and will lead to overall fast recovery.
After that, I was able to get up and spend some time on the couch, careful to never sit upright, on the package. At the end of the first week I was able to sit briefly in a car and spent an uncomfortable 2 hours at a dinner party. Sitting in a chair was highly uncomfortable, but not impossible.
Slow improvement in level of soreness and pain during second week, but I would have found it hard to concentrate on work issues. I could have worked on a laptop, and taken telephone calls, but it would have been challenging.
In weeks three and four, laptop work and phone calls doable, but you will still be sore and uncomfortable. You could also drive routinely and run around a little bit for work. I guess I could have worked if I had to, but it was nice not to have to do it.
By the end of week four I started cycling the implant and I was happy to restart sexual activities, and this is the time I think working a full week could be done without any trouble. Note: according to my doctor, I healed quickly, ahead of average, so your experience may differ. However, you are half my age, so 8nexpect you’ll heal very quickly as well.

Re: Implant Recovery Time
It’s a little hard to know what the experience will be like until you are in the midst of it.
You are young and fit so your healing time SHOULD be on the quicker end of things.
I got a Coloplast Titan inflatable implant on Tuesday March 25th. I stayed flat on my back with ice on pretty much around the clock for 3 days. Almost no pain or swelling. That weekend I went to see friends for a long afternoon. It was OK but I had some discomfort later from being on my feet all afternoon.
I was off work the next week and just took it really easy. I took some walks but otherwise napped and watched movies laying on the couch.
I returned to work on day 10. My work is sitting/standing/walking but no heavy lifting. It was fine.
If you can give yourself 2 weeks off you should expect to be fine for the light duty work you described. You MIGHT be able to get away with it after 1 week but plan for 2. You’ll be glad you did.

Thanks for the input mate. It sounds like a challenging recovery process, but I guess I'll get there in the end. Sounds like I'll need 2 weeks off on sick leave, followed then by 2 weeks working from home. Then after 4 weeks I'll walk back into the office and ease myself back into normality from there. Good to know!
Has your penis recovered all of its original size? At this point does it look or feel weird? Does it function well for sex or masturbation?
Re: Implant Recovery Time
Irish Lad 34, congrats on your decision ! FWIW, most guys end up wishing they'd had it done sooner. I'll answer your question from the other end on the recovery spectrum. I had an unusually rough recovery due to severe swelling, edema and hematoma. So my recovery was worse than most. I manage a business at home, but couldn't resume that until sometime in the second week, and even then had to take frequent breaks lying in bed. I didn't start cycling until almost 8 weeks, so traveling prior to that would have been a real challenge. Traveling probably wouldn't have been reasonably comfortable for me until week 10. The advice I've offered before is to plan for a normal recovery, but be sure you have a backup plan in case yours takes longer. Best wishes and look forward to hearing of your success !

Amazing. Thanks for your input!

I think based on this response, 2 weeks off on sick leave will be enough. Then 1 week working from home, then after 3 weeks off I will return to the office and ease myself back into a normal routine.
How are you now at this stage? Is the penis in good shape or do you think it will need a few more months to develop and heal?

That sounds like a solid plan.
At this point I’m 7 weeks post op and the best way for me to describe where I’m at in the healing process is that I forget I have an implant for long stretches of time. For hours and hours a day I forget. When I was newly post-op I didn’t have pain but I was aware of the implant all the time.
So 7 weeks in it is becoming part of me.
Regarding healing and developing; my doctor cleared me for gentle masturbation after 1 week and sex after 3 weeks. I had a solo session on day 9 and it was fine. And I had sex during week 4. Felt good and I was a bit achey after but not bad. During week 5 I had really vigorous sex for a long time and same result, achey after but fine.

Amazing. That sounds like a great recovery. Hope I'm the same.
Has the size recovered OK?
When did you start cycling? Jesus the quicker I get this done the better lol. Would be amazing if he can have me in for surgery within the next 2 weeks.
