Re: The Rite of Passage has begun
My incision site stayed dry until about a week after surgery. Then I'm noticed just a tad bit of spotting in my underwear. At this point I started smearing Neosporin over the incision and covering with gauze. Since I've started this routine a few days ago, the incision area looks super clean, and feeling quite nicely. I doubt Neosporin is available where you are. It's basically an over the counter mixture of petroleum jelly and bacitracin. I had a dermatologist remove a mole a few years ago, and he told me to cover the incision where the mole was removed with petroleum jelly, which would result in accelerated healing, and less scarring. This might be something to consider, or at least consider asking your doctor about.

Thanks Munky_Buttr.
I had a bit of leakage Sunday night but by the time I saw the doctor Monday, thee was none. He looked and saw no evidence of leakage and commented that the incision area had healed; he merely wiped away some of the dissolved stitching material. I do have Neosporin (made in India) and will call him and ask. At first, right after the operation, he told me not to put on any meds on the incision - maybe now is different.

Sunday 30 Nov Day 31
Woke up with things a bit tender and saw signs of seepage in the sanitary pad I put on last night. My wife persuaded me to call the doctor and run it by him. He said I shouldn’t be seeping at this point, and I was to come in tomorrow for him to check it out. I also asked if he had, in fact stitched the pump to the scrotal wall. His answer was “yes.”
Slight seepage continued till evening and then seemed to stop before I went to bed. I’ll see what the doc says tomorrow.
Monday 01 Dec Day 32
Off to see the doc today. I’m anxious (and hope the anxiety will be relieved today) that the doctor’s intention was to leave the pump in the high position. Or was it to keep it from ascending during the “curing” process? As I’ve written previously, it is not in a comfortable position. So many avenues of self torture here.
Just got back from the MD’s. He pulled out the stitch that was “connected” to the pump, and I didn’t even feel it. It seem the stitch was used to support the pump during recovery but not permanently. As he manipulated the sac my twins protested, it was painful. He said all looked OK but wanted to delay pumping for 2-4 more weeks since I complained about the pain.
Then, as I stood up, he asked if I wanted to feel the pump and the deflate buttons. I said yes and put my hand on the pump. The scrotal wall was sensitive but it didn’t hurt to give the pump a mild squeeze; even gently squeezing the release vale caused no pain. He commented on how strange it was that when he did it, it hurt, and not when I did it. I told him that when I did it, I didn’t bump into the twins. Anyway, he decided that since there wasn’t an overall pain I could come back in just 2 weeks to start working on pumping. I’m relieved, and anxious.
Tuesday 02 Dec Day 33
Decided that seemingly I had a clean bill of health, I would just ignore any discomfort and make believe all is well, which it is more or less. Then, this AM, while sitting at my computer, I felt a bit of dampness in my drawers. Wasn’t much, but it was discouraging.
Nonetheless, I went to the gym and did moderate exercising, then went vegetable shopping at the open market, carrying back in my knapsack about 12 pounds of veggies for soup. No leakage, and none even to now, late at night.
I’m in a quandary. The doc hasn’t any idea why there is leakage. We don’t live together or even near each other (plus he has obligations other than me) so I can’t just pop over and show the “live” leakage. Alas and alack!

Hi Sabaone
Sounds like you are on the way to recovery its a real shit that you have had the leakage But if you have any concerns just call your doc and have him check it out first hand. From what I have experienced and have heard the surgeons that perform these operations prefer that you contact them if you have any concerns, mine gave me his mobile number in case I needed him for anything so don't be mr macho, you don't need any thing screwing with your head and don't over do the lifting for a while.
After all you still have the fun of pumping yet to come
All the best Mate

Re: The Rite of Passage has begun
Earlier I inadvertently typed, "feeling quite nicely," I meant to type, "HEALING quite nicely." Let me know what the doctor says about the neosporin. In the week that I've been using the neosporin now, the incision site looks quite amazing.
Wishing you all the best in your recovery....

One...I haven't checked with the surgeon re Neopsporin, but will do so today.
Wednesday 03 Dec Day 34
Sitting at the computer this AM in my chillish study, the sac shrank as we know they do when in chilly air or water. This action seems to be the onset for the leakage. I stuck my fingers in my pants and ran them over the incision area. It wasn’t damp. The spotting seems to be the lower left section and I could feel a slight stickiness/dampness there.
I showered and saw/felt nothing untoward. I went out and about for a few hours and saw no other leakage. Thus far (1700) I haven’t called or texted the doctor. I’ll see what later or tomorrow brings.
Thursday 04 Dec Day 35
The day started well, then, at the gym, I started leakage. I think it was due to pressure on the scrotum as I was sitting at an excise machine and applying weight. Changed underwear and went out shopping for dinner-making items, and was out and about for a couple of hours and no leakage. It seems it is coming from the skin surrounding the pump. How, I don’t know. Maybe I need to go to a dermatologist to check that out. I’ll run that idea by my urologist this coming week.
Friday 05 Dec Day 36/Saturday 06 Dec Day 37
The day has gone well. It’s now 1500 and no seepage.
BUT, Saturday evening, while watching TV, I got up to get a drink of water and my wife commented that there was a wet spot where I had been sitting. I checked my underwear, and sure enough, I had some seepage. This time, however, my wife checked my bod and found the source of the leakage was at the bottom of the row of the incision. I have to contact the doc tomorrow.

Sunday 07 Dec Day 38
Put on a pad last night and had no sign of any leakage this AM.
Contacted the surgeon today via texting. Sent him a photo of the scrotum indicating where my wife saw seepage. He replied that it may be a small skin infection, and when I asked if Neosporin would be good, he replied in the affirmative. So after I showered I spread Neosporin over the incision area and the skin over the pump.
The scrotal skin is still sensitive. Anyway, as of 2100 there has been no seepage – maybe because of the layer of medicine. Who knows. I’ll apply some more tonight before I hit the sack.

Glad to hear you got the OK for the Neosporin. Wash the area thoroughly while showering, and apply liberally all other times. Hopefully this takes care of things.

Monday 08 Dec Day 39
Saw no seepage today. Showered and lathered with Neosporin and was out all day with a lot of walking. The scrotum still has a sensitivity when walking. The skin directly over the pump is very sensitive on the front and side but not from the back. I think I remember the surgeon saying he made a pocket in the scrotum for the pump.
Unlike most examples I’ve seen on Youtube, the pump is not located down near the bottom of the scrotum and sort of behind the testicles. Rather, it sits in front of them and somewhat closer to the penis than lower. The release valve is just under the penis. Is this normal guys? Also, I feel the tubing running up the left side along the penis base apparently heading to the reservoir. Do you also feel the tubing as prominently as I seem to (of course, you don’t really know “how” I feel it, but I hope you get the idea)?

Tuesday 09 Dec Day 40
Today started off uneventful until I took a shower and decided to try to pump. Squeezed somewhat hard to no visible effect. Then when I got out of the shower, toweled off, rubbing the whole genital area, including the sac, to make sure it was dry. I saw spots on the floor under my body, and then more spots. My floor is black but I knew immediately those were blood spots. Called my wife in to check and she agreed but said the blood was not from the incision site. Good news.
The blood was coming from scrotal skin on the front side of the pump. And a lot of blood it was. I wadded up toilet paper and applied direct pressure to stem the flow. After soaking a few “pads.” I got it to stop, and it remained stopped even after I went out for a coffee with a friend. After the bleeding stopped, I slathered the scrotum with Neosporin.
Answer: Two fold. The bleeding came from subcutaneous capillaries which are all over the scrotal wall. The heat from the shower sort of opens the capillaries and makes them easier to “break” with a towel rubbing. Guilty!
Second error was the pump effort on these already-to-burst capillaries that-covered scrotal wall covering the pump. My concern is will the scrotal wall always be this sensitive when I’m ready to pump for use. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
As of 1530, there is no further sign of bleeding!
