implant and cold penis

Postby Membrillo » Wed Feb 04, 2015 7:49 am

Hello. I have been talking with an urologyst and he told me that with an implant people have cold penis . Because a prosthesis is cold and cant be warmed to the body temperature. Have you guys had cold penis after implant?

This doesn't sound right - I haven't read any such reports, and my implant is the same temp as the rest of my body. The implant and saline fluid reside inside the body at body temperature. When you inflate, you are inflating with body-temperature fluid. Given that, I fail to see why your penis would become cold after inflation. Now the VED is a different story - it cuts off circulation of the blood, so the penis does become cold after pumping - that's one reason my wife hated the thing.

Based on your numerous posts on the topic of implants, you seem to be looking for a reason not to get one. As another poster stated a while ago, if you don't want one don't get it.

A cold penis is way better than a soft penis , in my opinion.
I dip mine in hot water for a minute or two. Gets it very warm.
Implanted with colorplast Titan 3 years ago. Davinci radical prostatectomy 6 months ago. Very happy with the outcome of both procedures.

I got a Titan 4 weeks ago today. My penis has never felt cold since then. There are times when I thought it might feel a bit warmer.
I am assuming that is because saline in the fluid reservoir is being kept warm by my natural body heat.
Go to Google Images and enter "penile blood flow diagram".
Some of the diagrams will show that there is blood flow in the penis that has nothing to do with the erectile tissue.

Hope this helps some.

When my penis is pumped up, it's very warm (my wife says hot). When the saline solution is pumped back to the reservoir, it is cool. Doesn't bother me.

I'm 5 weeks post-implant and haven't pumped up yet. But they sent me home from the operation with a semi, and it definitely is cooler than previously, especially the head. I didn't think blood flow to the head was affected by this procedure but clearly it has been. Hopefully it poses no problem down the road.
