The Pscchological Impact of an Implant
The Pscchological Impact of an Implant
Most of us who've made the decision to have an implant has coped with ED for many years. I believe this took a heavy toll on our sense of manhood and on our relationship with our partner. An implant suddenly cures us of ED and restores our erectile abilities in a never before experienced way. We can stay hard as long as we or our partner wants. This new found ability effects us and our relationship in profound ways. I'm new to this but my attitude and thinking about myself as a PC survivor is very different now that I regained what prostate cancer took away. The transformation from impotent to potent is a life changing and identity changing event. I don't read much about how an implant effects a man's sense of confidence or self esteem but I'm certain it does. I'm still in the transition period where this new found ability is in the process of changing how I think and feel about myself as a PC survivor. Anyone else can to share how your implant has changed the way you think and feel about yourself and whatever disease caused your ED.

I had a venous leak. Had trouble maintaining erections all my life. Got Implanted while in my mid 30's. A complete life changer. Before surgery, I was depressed. Now, I feel great. Having ED affected all aspects of my life. I had no confidence. Now I'm a very positive person with all the confidence in the world.

Thanks for sharing that. I could tell there's been a major shift in the I feel about myself, and my whole attitude about who I am as a PC survivor but it's been too early for me to understand where this is leading. Your post help me to understand there's a lot more going on than a rerun to the ability to have an erection.
Re: The Pscchological Impact of an Implant
I had a turtle, and on small side also, blood erection was good and hard. BUT, I suffered from PE. So, no matter how hard. It did not last long at all. Meds helped but had side effects. I was semi embarrassed growing up, heck most of my life, when appearing in underwear, as I seemed so small in appearance when all turtled in. IPP took turtle away sufficient enough that I now can proudly strut in my underwear (and not the baggy ones I used to wear). Such a cosmetic boost. As for PE, it seems to be getting much better as the confidence of knowing erection is not going away is awesome. Yes, so much mental /cosmetic gain. b
