Why does the pump get soft all of a sudden?

Brothers I have an AMS 700 LGX. When I start pumping, the pump gets harder and harder until it's as hard as a rock, I'll take a break, resume pumping and I'll notice that the pump feels softer again. Is this normal guys? I was under the impression it should only get harder and harder the more you pump it up, right?

Mine does exactly the same - I squeeze the pump until it is hard, leave it for a while and am able to get a couple more squeezes in, massage the shaft and I get a few more. If I am warm or inflate in the bath I get a bit more inflation.

I'm no technical expert but everything seems to relax and become more supple the warmer it and I am.

RugbyDave, is yours an AMS also? Just wondering if this issue is limited to AMS brand

I have Titan and if I move penis around some, I can usually add one partial squeeze on pump. Not sure I can recognize what that extra squeeze has done for me, but does give me the satisfactory thought that I have accomplished something needed. Perhaps, mind over matter.
