Would you do it again??

Knowing what you know today after implant surgery would you make the same decision a second time? Any regrets?
I had my implant surgery in Jan 2015. It wasn't as easy a journey as I expected but knowing what I know today I'd make the same decision. I recommend implant surgery to any man whose ED is a result of some medical condition.

As a PC survivor who had double nerve sparing surgery I know there are thousands of men like me who were told we'd get our erectle functioning back but didn't. This surgery gave me back what prostate cancer/surgery took away. Count me as grateful for implant surgery. For the record my wife is grateful too.

I would not, but my case is not typical. After struggling with ED for many years I finally got the implant, but I had suffered a prior stroke that was gradually killing my libido. By the time I healed from the surgery my libido was completely gone, and my wife had lost all interest during the years of fumbling around with ED and after menopause. We tried the implant once for old times' sake, but the experience was not good and my wife asked me to stop after a few seconds. Her heart wasn't in it and neither was mine.

I'm sure that I'd be delighted with my implant if I had even a glimmer of desire to use it, but unfortunately I do not.

So have you shown it to other doctors? What they say? That does not sound normal.

I've had a tough journey, to be sure. I'm on my third implant in less than four years. Still, I would definitely do it again.

Three surgeries, wow I don't know if I would go through another surgery if and when this implant stops working. I admire your determination to have a successful implant experience.

Here is what is amazing to me. My wife and I agree that the quality and frequency of our sexual experiences are better now in our 60's than it was in our 20's. There is an irony here. I don't know why but after I was dx with prostate cancer my desire for sex all but disappeared. Six years after surgery it has never returned.

I've learned to enjoy sex without having the desire. Truthfully this wasn't a difficult lesson to learn with the implant. Without a desire for sex I wasn't very motivated to stick a needle into my penis and endure 10-12 hours of throbbing pain. The beauty of the implant is the ease and lack of pain involved to have an erection.
I wish my desire would return but sex without desire is still terrific.
