implants and dribbling

Postby kbota53 » Thu Apr 21, 2011 2:43 pm

Okay, I've had my implant now since Dec. 15, 2010. Prior to the implant, I was 99.9999999% continent with virtually zero dribbling unless I had a full bladder and sneezed, coughed, or strained in some way. (It can sneak up on you trying to deliver a good fart.) Anyway, now when I pee, and tuck junior back, sometimes I'll dribble just enough to make it aggravating.

I can shake, thump, milk, and work the little monster all I want, but whenever I stick him back in, I dribble.

Anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix?

Yes, I sure do! I was hoping it would go away, but 5 weeks past surgery and it hasn't.

To me, it feels like the urethra is being squeezed by the cylinders in the penis. I know I could feel a large opening along the bottom of my penis before, now it seems to be squeezed by the implant. I'm hoping this gets better with time. I usually have to stand up and bend at the waist and milk like crazy onto a wad of t paper to keep from having a large wet spot. If I stand at the urinal, I shift my weight side to side and milk away. But, I usually end up with some in the underwear anyway.

I'm not sure if you have your prostate or not, but I do, so this was not a problem (other than maybe 1 or 2 drops) previously.

i'm only 3 weeks past implant surgery and i bought pads for this problem. i recovered well from prostate surgery and had minimal if any dribble before implant. i'm hoping this will go away with time too. maybe others with more time post surgery could give us an opinion...

Well, I think I've got this thing figured out. I have been following Dr's orders since our last visit where he said to pump it up at least 1 to 3 times a day. As some of you know, if you don't squeeze the little guy while holding the release valve open, he will not completely deflate. I guess I've been a little careless, but, there is the distinct possibility that I somehow enjoy him being a little plumper...lol

Anyway, once I started being more diligent about completely deflating the little guy, I've had zero problems with dribble....go figure.

For what it's worth....

David, That's strange. Looks like you are not the only one. I don't get a vote on this one due to my AUS. The only problem I had was reduced flow while urinating that occured during the healling stage where there was still swelling. With inflation I could barely pee. Now that is back to normal. I don't know about you but the ablity to squeeze the cylinders flat and get the old flacid state back is good. Sorta like we now have adjustable size to suit the mood? Now the big brain is in total control but may not always best?

Thanks for the chatter and the suggestions to help with this problem. I too have been plagued by a bit of the dribble and didn't even realize that others might have the same problem, until reading this posting. I've just been shaking my head thinking "not again!?" whenever it happens. Another problem that I have is while heading towards the restroom, knowing that I'm about to finally be able to relieve myself, and "boom" another dribble before I can even get him out. So far, I've been using TP to wipe, and the standing over the bowl milking approach, or trying to RUN to the restroom before it becomes a stain. I have found condom catheters but that seems to be a bit extreme at this point. Gosh the things that we talk about here can be so helpful. I'll keep referring back to all the suggestions made here and give each of them a try. Thanks for bringing up this subject. I sure hope that the nuisance ends soon! LGX_Man

Well, I signed the acknowledgments of possible ED and incontinencs (sp?) before surgery; sure enough both came to be true for me.

Now after 15 or so years with the implant and just a few fewer of an artificial urinary sphincter I quit opening the urinary sphincter and use Men's Guards during the day and condom catheters during the night. I've lost more control of everything down there since diagnosed with Parkinson's (disease) a couple of years ago. Orgasms are gone, for the last two years.

I hate not being totally nude, but I would rather not change a wet bed at night.

I had that problem for a few weeks but it finally went away for me.

I'm now 5 months post surgery. Dribbling was an issue, see my earlier post. Since the LGX is a little more broke in, and I've been pumping pretty frequently to maximize size, my penis girth is up a bit and there is no more pressure on the urethra when soft. I find most of my dribbling can be stopped by reaching down under to my prostate and pressing and milking from "way down under" a couple of times. That usually does the trick so that I don't drip, even running around nude. I've also got him to deflate pretty well, which also helps.

Since dave has bumped this back up some months later, it makes me wonder if the dribbling problem is from slow or restricted emptying and may be more of a problem for guys with the lgx more so than for a titan.. Like I said earlier, I had some significant restriction when inflated that disappeared after a couple of months. Anyway, this re-hash got me wondering about the difference in these implant's shapes. The lgx has rather blunt solid (firm) tips and the titan has more pointed and not solid tips and this differnce could explain a restriction the end of the urethra near the tip with an lgx? I have been faithful about the break-in procedure doing either once or twice full inflations for one hour each, possibly this may have fixed this problem for me?
I am going in two weeks for my final post surgery follow up at 7 months post op, if can remember this as well as my other questions I will try to run this by my doc.
