I'm 39 years old. Never was able to maintain my erections for more than 1 minute. Pills don't work. Had sclerotherapy by Dr. Kuehhas in Austria in 2016. Didn't work. Injections (Caverject) are the only things that gave me acceptable results.

Good luck Seeking with your surgery this Wednesday!

We are all behind you 2!

Thanks Echegollen, appreciate the support !

The same from me Razor and I'm waiting in the wings and hoping things go well for both you and Echegollen before I take the plunge. I've had the initial consultancy in London but put off the surgery because of work and family commitments whilst self doubts and the cost have also contributed to the delay.

I'm staying positive for you both and guess that it will take a couple of weeks of healing before you know what success looks like. As I have said before on this thread success for me would be stronger and longer lasting erections for at least 5 years even if I have to continue taking PD5's. After this it will be the implant at 45 albeit anything better than 5 years will obviously be very welcome!

Keep the posts coming because I find it both comforting and inspiring that other brothers in arms are taking the fight to ED by refusing to accept what they currently have.

All the best.

Thanks gollam121!

Still some bruising today mainly on the sides of the penis, it's improving slowly. There is a bit of minor pain around the cut and if I touch lower down the base of the penis from the cut where the deep dorsal vein would run it feels hard and quite sore/tender to touch, assume this is due to the sclerotherapy collapsing the vein.

Had some nocturnal erections last night and when I woke this morning, they seem to be a bit firmer than the night before. Hopefully this keeps improving over the next week+

Right, well...tomorrow morning it's my turn then. Razor, your account of your experience has benefitted me hugely and I want to give a sincere thank you as some of the info you have provided is extremely useful for helping me get through this, especially the info on the post-operative pain and bruising...I was expecting to be strolling around Vienna for a couple days after but thanks to your info ive decided to cram in all my tourism today as it looks like ill be hotel bound until my flight back.

I also admire you for undertaking such a colossal trip (distance wise) and documenting it for the forum here, Ive been feeling sorry for myself and ive only come from the UK...so I'll keep my mouth shut in that respect ;)

I don't want to regurgitate info you've already provided razor but in the interest of integrity I will document my procedure fully on here as well just so everyone has complete and independent accounts and they can make their own decision re: taking the plunge.

I have a date with a lady for this Sunday too...if I do get lucky, I can't wait to see her face when I tell her I can't perform because of a 'back operation I had to have done in Austria as they have better equipment there'...my my, it's so tragic you almost have to smile right?

Expect an update on here tomorrow with how I've got on.
The only thing keeping me going right now is that by experimenting with treatments like this, we might in some microscopic part be contributing to the banishment of this condition from humanity at some point...be that in 10 years or 100 years.

Yours (very) anxiously,
Seeking

Hi Seeking,

Good luck for your surgery in the morning ! Hope it all goes smoothly. I was a bit anxious before mine too, but you are in good hands with Dr Keuhhas, so try not to worry too much.

I'm looking forward to hearing your experience as well, to be able to compare with mine, so please detail as much as you want. The more accounts of experience, the better for everyone on the forum.

My bruising is improving more today, although I still have some tenderness around the cut n below it on the base. The surgical tape is starting to peel off a bit, but I will just leave it until it falls off completely. I had quite a firm erection last night, so am hoping that is going to continue improving as it heals more.

A positive update.

Was reading something quite erotic just now and felt myself getting hard. I decided to check how firm it was and as i touched it got very hard. The glans were quite firm too, when they used to be always soft. I stood up, as often that would cause me to lose the erection and instead it became even harder. I stood for a few mins holding it so as to not put stress on the cut/stitches and it remained hard :D

It's still early days, but hopefully this is a good sign of things to come.

Razor,

How great to hear - that's fantastic.

As for my case report this morning then, let's begin:

Turned up to the hospital at 7.30, signed the medical docs and was brought through to the surgery. They mopped my groin area with disinfectant, put a screen up over me and then gave me an injection to numb the area. They then made the incision, located the DDV and then put some contrast dye through before taking an X Ray to examine outflow. A very significant leak was found, which complemented the previous ultrasound study.

They put the aethoxysclerol through and I had to perform three rounds of Valsalva (straining), each for around 40 - 50 secs which can be quite weird. Between each round they took an X-ray to check progress - the final X-ray showed no leakage. Dr Franklin noted my flacid penis was more engorged and I certainly agree with him - this was the first positive observation, although assuming ive lost some size during my 4 years of venous leak, I don't think it was quite back to the good old days.

They then sowed me up, brought me back to a recovery room where I chilled for about an hour, then debriefed and discharged me with a months supply of Cialis, staring there would be a follow up.

First a few observations about the procedure, before I provide my own philosophical overview of this entire treatment:

The Procedure
- Although it is labelled as minimally invasive - and it is, I only have a small incision near the base of my penis - during it, you will feel alot of uncomfortable sensations as they rummage looking for the DDV amongst other things. If you're not expecting this it can be alarming.
- The post-op pain is not severe, but it's significant. If it werent for Razor's highly valuable heads-up, I'd have assumed something went wrong/was damaged as Dr Kuehhas was suggesting I do some sightseeing after the op! Ive instead returned to my room to rest, as there is moderate pain emanating out from my pelvis.
- When they injected the aethoxysclerol, I felt some pain amd numbness in my anus which I told them about. They asked me if I had piles - I do have a mild form. They said thats the reason and joked that the procedure would actually take care of them as well.

Now my holistic overview:
- In my opinion, until me and Razor are off the Cialis daily, there is no way in hell of telling whether this has worked or not. Therefore, I'm gonna leave it a full month before I formulate any kind of viewpoint on efficacy. Although, I was impressed by the X-rays.
- Mr Kuehhas said there would be a follow up in 4 - 8 weeks; however, I will request specifically one for 8 weeks precisely for the above reason - I don't want someone assessing my baseline erectile function if I'm on erection-enhancing drugs! I was rather baffled by this.

So there we have it. I'll post updates like Razor did re: bruising, recovery etc. In general, but the big moment for me will be the one month checkpoint mark at the start of September.

Cheers,
Seeking

It does look positive! Keep us updated. It's so nice to read about your experience.

Good luck Seeking with your surgery! By the way, I am in Canada... So no, you are not aloud to feel sorry for yourself for having to travel to Vienna. ;)

Hi Seeking, great to hear your operation went well. Interesting they did 3 on you and 2 on me. They must do enough until they are happy of no further leak.

As for the Cialis, I do agree for your case. I however was already on 5mg a day (for months since I'd done some ESWT), so I can still compare the before and after easily. I will also look forward to testing without after a month too.
