Well..............not feeling like "Lee Majors" yet, but the deed is done (6-22). Geeeez I was sore and thought the junk was gone....numb and swollen (I DID check ). Last 4 days have been...well...uncomfortable and inconvenient to say the least. As of day 5 not a lot of pain (still very numb) in penis and scrotum (some brusing of course). Main area for pain right now is from scrotum up left side lower abdomen (where the reservoir is) probably due to the fact that my Jolly St. Nick tummy gave him some problems placing it (it's not exactly where he'd like it), probably a little more trauma there to heal, said due to off location I "might" be able to feel it somewhat if I poked around. He did a Horizontal incision, but seems to be healing so far...a little drainage first 4 days, very little today, if any. Using Betadine (will kill about ANY virus or bacteria...think it works against MRSA too) salve on incision area, seems to be healing ok. They kept me overnite ( Dr.'s personal preference with his patients) and with the amount of different antibiotics they IV'd into me not sure the bacteria could even get to me!
No major pain from reservoir or its line EXCEPT........let the scrotum and junk hang free for very long and that hot poker pain from the scrotum up into the belly just does nothing but get more intense. I can grab a handful of the boys, pull it all up and pain goes away pretty quickly (thank goodness). Was always a grower, now the little feller is more alert and all puffed up (not inflated, see Dr in 3 wks and he's going to do some pumping up...if pain allows)...........by itself not a bad thing, but anymore perky (kinda looking like a fat turtle neck) and I'd be banging it on door jambs......hopefully that will go down quite a bit more in next several days. Right now it appear's to the fairer sex that "I'm kinda glad to see them", which I AM but not used to showing it quite so......obviously. Dr. Put in the AMS 700 LGX, 23 cm (hope that means average at least) as I told him I'm more grower than shower, so hopefully that will let it act more normal eventually. If I assume 2-3 inches are inside that would (assuming pain goes all away down the road) put the little feller out there about like it was. Since I was having more problems maintaining an erection (I could coax a good one to come up now and then) my efforts at trying to maintain regular blood flow in and out MAY have prevented a major loss of length.....Dr. didn't think that I'd lose any more 1cm.....if I lost any. I curious to see how the girth is once all is back to normal, suspect it might be a little larger, but swelling makes it hard to determine.
The scrotum is pretty swollen (Think average size orange normally......sm grapefruit right now). Have a pad with a U shape cut out of it to sit on (lets the scrotum sit in it with "some support" but removes any intense pressure..............which keeps it from getting irritated and swell back up more so If I sit at the right angle there is really no pain.....................just sitting, walking is the ducky walk. Fairly comfortable lying in bed, helps swelling retreat a little each day, but lying on that darn left side is out for now (my favorite side to lay on of course). Only using 1/2 the dose of pain meds last 2 days(if needed) once at night to insure sleeping, as I take 2x800 mg Ibuprofen twice a day for my lower back anyway.
One thing that bugs me is urinating.............its not bad (can even get right angle most of the time....momma happy), but really never seem to empty bladder all the way. Kinda of like having an extremely enlarged prostrate, hoping that gets better as the over all swelling finally goes down......the swelling seems to be "pinching down" the plumbing and the pressure doesn't stay high enough to force it all through the restriction at one time.
Dr. told me to get hold of pump occasionally and do the pull down bit..............tried......but right now between swelling and normal size of the boys, the pump is extremely hard to find or maintain a hold on....without some pain. Hope to be able to find the Magic pump in a few days, definitely want to get it to settle in a little lower position (although when I do seem to find it...it appears to hanging pretty low anyway) so it's ready for quick action ....if needed .
Ok off to move about a bit, try and work some more fluid off.....also the "Huumon" part of this Bionic is getting hungry.
Ouuuuucccchhhh! That Hurt!
Re: Ouuuuucccchhhh! That Hurt!
Congrats!
Amusing and interesting to see how everyone responds differently to this procedure. Let us know how pumping goes. I'm not touching mine for another 4.5 weeks (6/17) implant, but I can't wait!

I'm only 3 days post-op, and my recovery is fairly similar.
It seems like you're inflated a bit more than me. How much are you inflated at the moment?

Got this music playing in my head and somebody saying "we can rebuild him. We have the technology. "
Glad to hear the pain has improved. I get mine 5 days from now and all i have are stomach butterflies !
Hope your improvement continues. Has peeing gotten easier? Hope so. I know from experience thats annoying and uncomfortable. Now comes the big WAIT till you get turned loose! I know it will be worth it but will be glad when, like you i am on the other side of it!
Keep us posted on your progress. It helps a LOT to have an idea what to expect from guys who have been down this road.

I just removed the catether an hour ago. I was concerned that removing it would hurt, but it didn't, it was pretty straightforward.
Peeing is weird right now for me, it will probably take some time for it to get back to normal.
As the surgery gets closer, the "butterflies" are gonna get stronger, it's totally normal. Just think of the great things that are ahead - like having a penis that is ready to go 24/7

Not inflated, or so the Dr. said as he deflated it before I left hospital. But I was a grower so maybe its the fact that it doesn't have to "grow" as much..LOL. Two weeks now since implant, so played with the pump today and pumped about 6-8 times...definitely was getting hard (almost at drive nail hard, and harder than its been in several years), but I didn't pump anymore as there was a dull aching pain, same pain as when the "boys" are not properly supported. No sharp pains.....DID get an orgasam type feeling building, probably due to pressure internally and in glans both are still healing from surgery I'm sure...but I didn't try for anywhere close to max. Dr. said the implant takes 6 wks or so to "encapsulate" (heal), so I am trying to gradually get some small expansion of the corpora as it is healing. Hoping this will allow implant to expand better over time with less effort or pain versus waiting 6-8 wks to start pumping out to max. I feel if I can get some small amount of expansion as it is healing that later on the discomfort of pumping it out will be less and I may get more expansion out closer to normal size with time, as he put in the LGX I'm going to try and make use of as much expansion as is practical. I am thinking only pump a little every other day until 6 weeks out (will see Doc at 4 wks), then step it up to at least once a day....maybe twice using pain as a guide.
Will let pain be the guide as to how much and how often to pump.....just trying to prevent any major operative "shrinking". Haven't had to use anything but Ibupropen since day 6, so far haven't had to take very much extra. As long as the pains are dull and not very sharp there is no need, usually just quit doing as much and let it rest awhile works. Have found that it is much better to wear a jock strap with a hole cut out for the "boy" . Without the hole the strap puts way too much pressure on the implant itself and is very uncomfortable at the least. Suspensory Scrotal Support w/ Leg Straps ......is what I really need, specially designed to let the boy hang loose and keep the little fella's snug and tight as this almost totally relieves the dull ache without causing discomfort to the implant.
Most major swelling is gone and bruising is clearing up mostly. There is still an issue trying to pee when sitting and some pulling pain in the reservoir area while sitting. It is getting better as time goes on at least. Finally some of the numbness in the shaft and scrotal area is going away and feeling is beginning to return slowly........still some numbness but don't have to check and make sure the junk's still there anymore...LOL. I know the "instructions" say to grasp the pump lines when pumping, but not much in way of lines to grasp due to placement of pump as the little fella's kinda get in the way........news flash, don't grab the "wrong" bulb...the boy's don't like to be pumped..
Haven't really had any problem finding and grasping the pump to pump......its finding and getting it to deflate that's a problem..(I know not really a problem to us guys LOL ). I can't really tell just yet when I've actually actuated the release, although finding the button is not a problem. Funny...most say they can't pump easily, but releasing easy. Guess I'm arse backwards.....
I did spend the first week and a half either comfortably situated in my chair or stretched out in bed....nothing else. Tried avoiding anything that caused any straining at all as when I didn't the swelling tried increasing...no fun at all. I'd plan on 2 weeks chair and bed rest initially for anyone doing this....then proceed slowly getting back to normal as comfort and pain dictates. But I'd hold off doing any lawn mowing, furniture moving, etc until at least 6 weeks out. Even if working in a sitting job it's uncomfortable to sit long uninterrupted, get up every so often and walk around a bit, it seems to help prevent the swelling from coming back up so much.

Uhhh, I agree so far (more to come later)..........but the first 4-5 days really sucks.... It does get better as time goes on LOL.
Re: Ouuuuucccchhhh! That Hurt!
Well been kinda busy to report in...............
Hit a bump in the road to full recovery at about 3 1/2 weeks. Developed an infection sinus in the scrotal sack that extended from one edge of the horizontal incision up into the pubes. Prior to pumped some as the implant was I guess about 20% inflated and was kind of in the "way" so's to say of comfort, did so in an attempt to get the hang of pump and release figuring it would deflate better if some light pressure were added before activating release.
Darn good thing I did I guess as some nice light redish discharge started from one edge of the incision....light but constant........so at 4th wk met with Dr. and he went probing.....oouuch nice long sinus with some light white pus, more drainage than pus. So was told to pack with medicated packing and keep covered.....no problem. This went on for 2 wks, back to Dr. for Ck up, not really getting any worse per se, but not really resolving either so now he takes a swab to culture (pissed he didn't at first follow up)..........bingo Proteus Mirabilis gram neg bacterial infection (somewhat drug resistant type). So started on Cipro.....after 3 days it appear's that the sinus in beginning to improve some and the massive constant drainage has gotten somewhat less, but still flushing with Peroxide, packing and covering But now peeing is improving greatly...........the urgent need to frequently urinate and not urinating much, weak stream since about wk 3 I had initially put off on the swelling, etc......nope I'm betting on a really severe UTI (Proteus Mirabilis is a common UTI cause) although Dr. hasn't mentioned that as an issue yet.
I suspect that due to infection running from one edge of incision up to pubes that either the bacteria got into wound edge during initial healing (healed and closed really quick and nice...8-10 days out) OR.......that since the UTI is so severe (nearly shutting off urinating.....thought the prostrate had tripled in size!) that the infection migrated thru the urethra into the area (the sinus runs right up next to the penis shaft) due to the disturbed tissues OR something I hadn't considered until today while "researching this issue".....Prostitis.....even though my vans def tubes were cut and shorted years ago in vasectomy the tubes were still there coming from the Prostrate, and the severed ends would have been laying pretty darn close in line with the infected sinus cavity, thus a seriously bad UTI that got into and infected the Urethra & Prostrate would have had a nice straight path to follow right down almost to the incision area....................
So far doesn't appear that the actual IPP is involved, no redness, no real pain (except head due to almost constant 20% or so auto-inflation and that right in line with urethra (infected?) and some "aching" and very very light brusing right at tip, but constant light inflation ain't fun ), infection sinus is not swollen and doesn't extend into tubing area no pain or swelling there, no pain or swelling around pump, not hot, never had any fever, and scrotum as I mentioned below smallest in years...........I think I missed a bullet...now to keep dodging it!
Other than this most of the swelling has pretty much all gone back to normal, (scrotum is actually wayyyy smaller than before implant) bruising gone, numbness 95% less, no real problems sitting for long periods, no soreness. Only real unusual thing is that I have never been able to get the IPP to soften up and the cylinders seem quite overly firm and I have not yet gotten any deflation to soften them at all (AMS 700 LGX)................walking around with a small promise of a nice woody most of the time and actually might be somewhat functional if I tried to use it as is. You know the "it's kinda of like glad to see you..maybe...rub up against me and I'll be REALLY glad to see you"! Hoping that this is just my being careful around the infected site and not due to the reservoir being encapsulated OR the IPP having too much hydraulic fluid in the system........the pump worked going up great, and release going down, somewhat......
What I DO know is that it is sure delaying any warm up or qualifying laps around the track right now.........Dr. did mention a possible...Gasp, hold your breath........ "removal" might be needed if it didn't resolve, but I gave him a sideways look on that and told him...."only if you do an immediate recovery and re-installation right then...... , He just said IF we do we'll talk about it..........Yes Sir Re......IF we do WE will do lots of talking! I'm not going to go thru an extended removal (more pain and discomfort).....wait for it to clear (more pain in the butt waiting).....and then do it again (open it ALL up AGAIN 3x and repeat the process), without some serious discussion. Going to a removal, antibiotic wash, clean, antibiotic wash and re-installation....yeah...only IF necessary... Both methods from what I read are just as successful, just one is less damage and doesn't require opening and closing the same wounds multiple times....all of which in my eye is just asking for more chances for more infection's.......a one time in and out is bad enough....
Soooo how's everybody else doing?
