Questions and concerns

Postby preacherman » Thu Oct 22, 2015 3:44 pm

Hello,
I have been reading this site for quite a while and am considering getting an implant. My problem since my 40's has been ED and pyeronies so my urologist advised me to use pills which I did but they didn't work. Then he recomended a vacuum pump which I used for about two years pretty well. Problem now is the pump and the restriction rings have caused pyeronies to get worse. Still have hour glass but now a slight curve to left where bands were.

My question is:
1. If I keep using the vacuum pump I know the pyeronies will get worse so I have stopped that.
2. I still have erections in the mornings but not complete. Should I go ahead and consider an implant now while my pyeronies is not too bad?
Or continue to use pump and ruin myself worse? From my reasearch it seems I have a greater chance of success the way my pyeronies is now than if I keep using the pump and make it worse. From my perspective it is go without sex the rest of my life or use pump and make pyeronies worse to the point of not being able to have sex at all.

Any thoughts would be appreciated as my wife and I are now living without sex. I am 54 and don't won't to make the wrong decision. I would be going to Milam in Nashville as that is the closest facilty for me. Thanks in advance.

If you want to be sexually active, do you really have a choice. Go for it. You have already made a great choice in surgeons.

Schedule a consultation with Milam and take it from there.

If the VED worsens the condition, I really don't see much other choice. I agree with ED2013... Go see Dr. Milam.

Be prepared to get the run around to get in to Milam and several other docs. My internist sent a referral to Milam. Same as another person on FT, first call I was told he nolonger does surgery. I called again 2 more times and found out he does, then I was told Vanderbilt does not accept United Healthcare insurance. A call to their bookkeeping department confirmed they do accept it. Several more run around issues and I finally got an appointment.Took 6 weeks of run around to get an appointment in another 6 weeks. d

Go for the appointment. You have nothing left to lose, ( you already have stopped having intercourse) and everything to gain. The chances of a successful procedure are very high with the modern devices and antibiotic coatings. And speaking of intercourse, I'm sure you don't need me or anyone else to tell you that intercourse is not the ONLY way for both of you to get some sexual satisfaction. It is entirely possible for you to have a good orgasm without an erection so while you are waiting to get your penis repaired, my advice is to just put intercourse on the back burner, experiment and have some fun. You'll be back in business before you know it.

I appreciate everyones responses. Everything each of you said makes perfect sense so I will probably schedule an appointment with Milam soon and see what direction he suggests.
Will update you when I find out what he says about situation.
Thanks
