I've read around and have came across opinions on how long is needed off work.
My surgery However, I have zero physicality in my job and am able to work from home when I want. Is there something preventing me from laying in bed and working on my computer that I'm not aware of? Perhaps the pain is too much for this simple activity?
Thanks for any opinions
Is it possible to not take time off work?

You should be fine, especially if you can work from home for a few days.

I was told you should plan on spending as much time as possible reclined for a few days to minimize swelling. d

I had a very quick recovery with minimal pain and was able to call in to meetings and was allowed to work remotely for administrative parts of my job. That said sitting which I was told not to do for the first two days at all, was very uncomfortable for the first two weeks and sore for over a month. I also felt pretty wiped out for a few days. I staerted calling in to meetings from a recliner the second week post op. Anthing is possible but I would count on at least a few days off and likely more before committing to an 8 hour day.

Your brain may want to get back to work, but, physically, just from the result of surgery and nothing specifically regarding the implant, you will want to rest completely for two days and cool it for the first week.

There is nothing physically to stop you from working remotely other than your own tolerance for some pain and discomfort. If you don't have to move around too much, feel reasonably rested and want to, I don't see any reason not to work. See how it goes.

I dont know what kind of work you do but the effects of the anesthesia may linger for a couple of days. You could easily tire and not think clearly.
