AMS (Moventary Squeez) Pump Experience
Re: AMS (Moventary Squeez) Pump Experience
treifsnyder, I had heard exactly the same as you and posted this question to Dr.Milam when I saw him. He said there are no issues with infrapubic and infrapubic is the way he would do it. When I asked here peoples experience with infrapubic two told me they had no issues, yet infrapubic were the ones who always said they had issues with pumps and kinked tubing in the past. Been researching this and it seems to me the only advantage infrapubic is easier placement of the reservoir. Milam has posted on his website that he buries the tubing deep under several layers of tissue so the tubes are not felt or seen like some doctors who do infrapubic. d
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

Hard drive, I had forgotten all of your posts on this subject. I entered a comment to you on the size subject. But you're WAY ahead of me in the experience arena. Curious, how long did your Titan last? Also, when there are so many failures, I'm wondering if you had problems with insurance.

I admire the grit of anyone who would go through several of these procedures. If my first one fails it will be over my wife's strenuous protests that I would ever have another.
Age 68 - AMS LGX 12+2cm. Lost over an inch from pre-ED length but thicker for what it's worth (not much). ED result of heart meds.

Well, I've had several Titans. The longest one lasted was just short of two years. I couldn't use it the first year because the pump was placed halfway up the shaft of my penis in the loose skin that extends from the scrotum and it was sewn in place. Needless to say, trying to push the pump and penis inside of a vagina just doesn't work. The VA Doctor refused to do a revision. I finally protested to Coloplast and they arranged for a second VA urologist a few hundred miles away to take a look at it. He was shocked and did the revision right away. I lost no size and it worked well for a year. Then it failed due to the tubing developing a long split all the way to the cylinders. Then started my LONG journey of conservative implant replacements.
Oh, and on the insurance question, 100% disabled military Vet... No insurance involved.

Well, I was desperate... I married a woman who is a few years younger and discovered she'd been having multiple affairs since I couldn't perform. We went to counseling, and did the painful work of dealing with my emotional wreckage. She felt I just wasn't attracted to her and didn't want her anymore. She was ignorant about what ED is and its effects.
Through counseling, church, and God, we're still together and doing well.

That's incorrect. There are many advantages for the patient if the surgeon is highly skilled at infrapubic. The disadvantage is for the doctor. It's a little more difficult to perform and it takes slightly longer for most doctors. Most surgeons prefer the scrotal method since it's easier and faster. The patient's anatomy sometimes requires one method as opposed to the other.
All things being equal, I MUCH prefer an infrapubic procedure for reasons already listed. There's a lot of little nuances involved that are much to lengthy for me to type on my iPad. It's best to just let your surgeon decide since he knows his own surgical skill set and your anatomical needs better than anyone else. My primary VA urologist admitted to me that my needs were beyond his skill set, and this admission is what paved the way for me to see Dr. Milam. The VA doc. knew his own limitations and I respect and appreciate his honesty and assistance that got me to the right surgeon.

Thank you for the reply. With everything you read on the net, things have to be sorted out. Dr. Milam says he will do the procedure and I have no doubt he is quite skilled. I guess I am trying to make sure I am making the best decision with the information available. Only 4 of 22 surgeries in my life had the outcome or were done the way the presurgical planning had planned out so I am extra leary. Hopefully will get a surgery appointment date some time in the future.
Glad you and the wife have worked things out. A lot of respect for those who do not give up. I understand not giving up. Dr. Milam is the 17th doctor since I've tried to get an implant.
Cheers bud. Sorry about the V.A.. I have friends who go to the V.A. for care and everyone of them has horrid issues from every trip. Wonder any of them live.
