Reconstructive Surgery Anyone?
Re: Reconstructive Surgery Anyone?
I am hoping and praying for you. When I first started trying to find a way to get a working dick I often ran across ads in the search engine for doctors who specialized in trans surgery building implanted dicks for women being changed to men. If they can do that, then I have no doubt it can be be done for you because you already have something to start from. Many Many hugs and prayers. d

Newer update - Dr. K texted me (yes, he texts his patients!) and had another idea - a plastic and reconstructive surgeon that works with him at UMD - wants me to see her and he wants to be there. He's already talked to her and I've called and made an appointment for 10/20. It's at least worth one more trip to Baltimore. . .

Great news and confirmation of the kind of person Dr. Kramer is. Fingers crossed and prayers said!

Re: Reconstructive Surgery Anyone?
So gent's, here's the latest update. . . Dr. Kramer had recommended I see a plastic/reconstructive surgeon with whom he works in Baltimore. I went to see her a few weeks ago and she pretty much has one feasible option for me, the reconstruction of my phallus using forearm tissue. Although I'll never say never (since I never would have thought five years ago I'd have gone into surgery for an implant), it's not something I want to pursue at this particular point - lots of variables like nerves that need to be connected and no guarantee I'd be able to orgasm again - not sure it would be worth all that just to get an erection (Dr. Kramer would install the implant months, up to a year, after the reconstruction). So, after Dr. Kramer contacted me with this info after he talked to Dr. Bluebond, I recalled that Dr. K had mentioned a doctor in Va. Beach - only about 2 hours from me, that did reconstructive work. I looked him up on the web and found that his urology practice actually has a center for urologic reconstructive surgery. I asked Dr. K what he thought about visiting Dr. McCammon and he indicated it would be a good idea, what he called a "high yield visit". I called his office on Friday and the first appointment available was in January. . . .I made the appointment, figuring I've waited this long, what's a few more months, and his scheduler said she'd contact me if there were any cancelations. Lo and behold, she called a few hours later and said he'd gotten a cancelation for this coming Tuesday! So I'll get my operative notes from Dr. K, head down to the beach, drop my drawers, and see what Dr. McCammon has to say. Hoping he'll have dealt with cases similar to mine and will have some way of opening up the chambers where either he or Dr. K can get in there and be able to install the implant cylinders. Fingers crossed! Update soon.

Re: Reconstructive Surgery Anyone?
So a glimmer of hope after my appointment with Dr. McCammon yesterday in Va. Beach. After a great consultation and examination, he thinks he may be able to help with an implant. His biggest concern right now is the scar tissue at the base of "willie" that was likely caused by Dr. Kramer when he tried to dilate the corpora in that direction. Dr. McCammon wants me to use my vacuum pump for 10 minutes a day for the next couple of months in hopes that stretching things out will help loosen/soften up the scar tissue. . . . hopes he'd then be able to go in and "carve out" the fibrotic tissue in the corpora to allow for implant cylinder(s) (either inflatable or semi-rigid). There was more to our conversation, including his wondering why Dr. K. didn't carve it out during the procedure in August but too late now - what's done is done. I also have an appointment with my local uro tomorrow (the doc that would have tried to implant me had I not chosen to go with Dr. K) so I'll be interested to hear what he has to say as well. . . more updates as I am updated - keeping the faith for now.

That sounds promising rglassva, please keep us posted. If this works out you may have laid the ground work for many others in a similar circumstance. My prayers are with you, and as long as you continue to persist, I fully expect you will achieve an acceptable outcome. Don't give up.

Hope things work out for you. I have a feeling they will. I think the standard size implant is 1.5 centimeters if I remember correctly which does not take a lot of space and they do make a slender model. If all else fails maybe they can consider splitting the cavernosa and putting a graft all the way down similar to the grafts they do for serious peronies. the grafting is often done with an implant, i've watched videos of the surgery in the past. Smart minds at work will find a way for you. Cheers. Good news is great news. d
