Rear Tip Extenders
Rear Tip Extenders
I'm confused about the role played by RTP's. Do both AMS & Coloplast have them?
Re: Rear Tip Extenders
My understanding is that these are used if your anatomy requires regulating the depth to which the cylinders are embedded inside the body. I don't think they have anything to do with "lengthening" your penis - an implant can't give you any more length than you were born with. Maybe others with more detailed understanding of RTE's can chime in here.

Re: Rear Tip Extenders
RTEs make the length of the corporal bodies match the length of the cylinders since the cylinders only come in certain lengths so if 22 cm corporal length and arms cx only comes in 18 or 21 then add 4 cm to 18 or 1 cm to 21 cm to get 22 cm total implant. I got the sense that some docs don't want the tube that fills the cylinder to come off too far inside so will use shorter cylinders and more RTEs to move the tubes on cylinders further out to match the opening they cut to put the cylinders in. Hard to explain in words but if you watch the videos and look at pictures of cylinders it kind of make sense. So RTEs are used to make the cylinder length plus RTE match the length of the corporal bodies measured in surgery. Not sure how clear I am being but hopes it helps.
66 year old with ED intermittently for years and consistently for the 2 years before implant. Tried everything. AMS CX 21cm+1 cm RTEs Dr Kramer 4/29/2015.
Revision 5/3/2021 AMS CX 700 21cm+2 cm RTEs.
Revision 2022 Titan XL 24 cm no RTEs.
Revision 5/3/2021 AMS CX 700 21cm+2 cm RTEs.
Revision 2022 Titan XL 24 cm no RTEs.

Thanks - I hoped somebody would come along and clarify

Re: Rear Tip Extenders
Lets say Guy A has an internal cavernosa that measures to need a 2cm tip extender and a 22 mm implant on the penis end
Guy B has an internal cavernosa that measures to need a 3 cm tip extender and his penis end also needs a 22 mm.
Both guys have the same penis length end and a different tip length due to a different internal measured length of the hole it goes in . The internal part does not need to inflate or get hard like your penis so they use the silicone snap on ends internally to adjust for length variances.
Both the implant and extenders come in different lengths. It's all about making it fit.
Since the length of each varies among everyone a one size fits all will not fill the entire hole in some or be wadded up in others. Thus various sizes.
Hope this helps. d

Re: Rear Tip Extenders
Interesting- Kramer told me he's slightly against the use of reartip extenders if at all possible, trying to maximize the amount of "live device" as he calls it. seems like the tips are way deep in the body somewhere and it shouldn't matter, but that was his take

Pretty much what Alibaba said. It's all about making the final adjustment for a proper fit.

Re: Rear Tip Extenders
Dr. Milam said If he can fit a device w/o a tip extender he would also do it w/o but if one was needed he would only use one on each size of the proper length. I have heard of and seen videos where doctors stacked them up to get the right length. My opinion is stacking is due to a facility that does not keep a proper inventory of implants on hand. Check with whomever does your procedure and see that they have an adequate inventory of goods. Can't get a proper fit if they do not have your size. If they don't do but 6 implants a year they may not stock several sizes. Been a while since I have read the surgery data sheet for doctors but the tips and implants both come in a LOT of sizes. d

I meant to post this the other day. AMS list of implants and tip extenders. See page 33. You can see there are a lot of sizes and combos that can be made up. With the options, I would think it is important to get a doc who knows what they are doing and has ample inventory to work from. d
