Done done done
Re: Done done done
Question for RugbyDave. First, congratulations for a successful recovery from prostate cancer and a successful implant. At two years post op I am sure everything has adjusted stretched etc. My question is related to your blog flaccid vs erect pics. Looks like your flaccid is still kind of erect. I am 9 months post op with a Titan Coloplast and flaccid is larger than pre implant, however hangs pretty strait down ( however it's slightly flatter). Maybe it's just the design differences between the two brands.

Hey scooter. Did you really work 1/2 day today? How goes it? Cheers. d

Perhaps the picture angle is not the best. My main reason for choosing the LGX700 was because to me deflated it felt the most like I had naturally.
Completely deflated and although fuller than it was pre-implant I hang at about 5 o'clock and inflated at about 3.

So I had surgery on Monday morning, I was discharged on Tuesday morning (keeping under the 24 hour rule!!) and I pretty much laid in bed with my ice. Yesterday morning I went into work from 10:00-1:30, came home and rested until dinner at 5:00 during which I was paged out for a fire call (I am on light duty but I had just put myself back in service with the fire department but it will be a month before I'm riding the rigs again) and then since I was already at the station I attended my squad drill (which I was supposed to run but I just observed since I already had a sub in place for that night) and it ended with a small holiday party after (of which I only stayed a short time).
I found myself icing when I got to bed and icing again at 3 am but when I got up this morning the swelling was not too bad and I feel pretty decent. I still have waddle to my walk but so far so good. I feel very fortunate to be where I am in my recovery. Today I am hoping to put in at least 6 hours.
Have a good day!

UNBELIEVABLE!. I hope it continues to go that well. You are doing as well as my wife's tumor surgery last month. I'm hoping mine goes 1/2 as well. I've not been paged out on a fire call in 25 years. I was used to The radio going off all hours of the day and night for years, then became allergic to smoke. Take it easy. Having had many surgeries I can tell you if you over do it, you can wrck a speedy recoveries awesome progress. Be good. d

Thanks for the encouragement. I am feeling really luck so far. The fire pages will kind of suck this month without being able to go but it is what it is. As I look back at this week so far, I was very nervous going in as this was my first time in surgery (aside from dental surgery when I was a kid). My day job is primarily at a desk with minimal walking so I really didn't see it as being that much harder than being at home and didn't have to watch any daytime TV!!!
So if I understand your post earlier correctly, we are both brothers in the implant club as well as the fire service! Thanks for your commitment to both clubs!!

Re: Done done done
You beat me at the implant. Feb 24th I'm scheduled for mine and looking forward to it now. Seem stress level went down a notch once I had a date. Took a long time to get my head around doing it then a long time to get a doc and schedule but I am headed your way. Take it easy. I have had 4 hernia repairs down there and a prostatetomy. sitting upright can get rough with too much time. Fluid runs down hill so it can increase swelling plus puts more of a weight load down there. Take care brother. You are cruising like a Ferrari and don't want anything to slow your progress. d

Re: Done done done
Well, surgery was 6 days ago and so I figured that I would provide an update. When sitting and laying their is virtually no pain (side note, I like to sleep on my side and having a bulky pillow between my legs is critical). When walking, though, that pain can be rather significant. I have stopped using ice and have begun to add in baths. I have never been a fan of baths....until now!!
At the end of the day, surgery itself was a breeze. I am thinking that getting rid of the current pain might take a bit. So evidently I will be able to show off my waddle walk for the foreseeable future. I see my Uro a week from Tuesday and so I will be hoping to make progress by then.
One more thing, I have been finding that a lot of my pain seems to come from standing and walking but more precisely from my scrotom sticking to my leg. I just went and tried some gold bond powder in the area and I think it may be helping a lot. If it does, I wish that I would have tried it a couple of days ago. (WD40 had come to mind as well but probably isn't the most hygenic)!!!

Re: Done done done
Since my last post on Sunday, the pain has diminished greatly. The majority of the day the waddle when walking is gone. At this point I am looking forward to my post-op follow up which is a on 12/15 and hopefully we will be able to put this new equipment to work (at least as far as inflating and deflating is concerned)!
All in all, the surgery went incredibly well for me in terms of recovery. Now we just have to make sure that all them there parts work right!!

Scooter - very happy to hear that you are doing well and seem to be recovering remarkably quickly. Congrats on joining the bionic brotherhood - hope to follow you into the club in 2016.
Thanks for the updates - although everyone's experience is different it's always nice to read about the ones that go smoothly.
