How does the surgery/procedure work?

I was considering an implant with Dr Eid, but I'm nervous about the procedure. First, I had my first doppler done today and the injection didn't work on me (Odd because cialis usually works OK for me) So how does DR Eid induce an erection in patients (to put the implant in) if injections don't work on some patients?

The injection to induce an erection is not for surgery, it is an attempt to get some idea of the size of the post surgery implanted penis. I believe Eid takes a lot of time explaining to patients the size issue. The surgery itself gains access via incisions in the corpus cavernosi to dilate them and insert the cylinders.

There are numerous videos of the actual surgical procedure on YouTube. You really should see several of them to familiarize yourself with the procedure before your surgery.

A question for you. If Cialis is still working for you, why are you gearing up for an implant?

As you can read in 'My Journal', the injection didn't really work for me either during Eid's pre-op exam.
But as already said above, that's only to let patient and surgeon agree on reasonable size expectations.
What he did with me was stretching my injection-induced semi-erection to get the best estimation on size.

Thanks for the info guys! Wow you just got implanted? How do you feel?? Did it hurt when waking up?

Well not when waking up. Still sedated by all drugs.
But a few hours later, yes it hurts.
On the other hand I'd say I have experienced far worse pain from other issues over the years.
I think this pain is just different because it's in the dick. It's mentally tougher to have pain in your genitals than in a shoulder or a knee.
Now it's been 4 days and the pain is not bad at all. Already a big difference.

By the way, I'm what you would consider a "grower"-- my unit is really small when flaccid (about 2-3 inches) but grows to 6 inches when erect. Is that something that would cause some problems during the surgery?

Thank you-- Well Cialis is working but not as much as I'd like it to work. I always have to stimulate in order to keep the boner, but it's definitely better to have Cialis than nothing. I would like an implant because it would allow me to have great sex without having to worry about losing my boner-- something that happens to me all the time during sex and it's quite annoying and embarrassing.

No, that won't cause a problem. If you get an implant, you won't shrink so much when flaccid.

Cialis, Viagra, Levitra, Caverject (Alprosdtadil injections), MUSE (Alprosdtadil suppository) didn't work for me at all. Most everyone here went through what you are experiencing at the various stages of ED. It cost me two marriages and nearly a third.

Be very sure this is what you want, as there is no going back (although I don't know why you would want to go back).

It is possible that you may find even better size in flaccid than before, I did. i believe it is simply because cylinders must have the area to occupy when deflated. Having a "more cosmetic appearance" at flaccid was/is a real mental boost. Good Luck. billy
