I am a healthy 57 YO with an 8 year history of Peyronies. I have a 90 degree right turn in the distal 1/3 of the shaft. I have failed Xiaflex injections and after extensive research have asked for an implant. My urologist is fellowship trained in implants and agrees with my request. I was hoping for the AMS 700 LGX in an effort to maintain maximal length however he has informed me that particular devise is contraindicated in Peyronies. He has proposed the AMS 700 CX along with relaxing incisions and to leave the implant inflated for the first 3-4 weeks immediately after surgery.
Has anyone be given similar advise? I have intermittent ED but did not want to go with a grafting procedure and chance less than optimal results.
Thanks for you input in advance.
First Implant Questions
Re: First Implant Questions
Garber says any length expanding cylinders is a bad choice for patients with PD. They will make curvature even worse.

I thought the common idea these days is to leave cylinders minimally inflated post op to allow scar tissue to form around a full or nearly full reservoir. If not, auto-inflation of cylinders is a considerable risk.

Re: First Implant Questions
With peyronies the grafting procedure can cause ed issues, but it maintains the size.
Can't you have a grafting procedure with the implant for minimum size loss?
Then you don't have to worry about Ed issues as the implant would take care of them.
If you dont have a grafting procedure, with a 90 degree curve you going to loss a lot of size.
As the implant will straighten the penis but only to the shortest size.
Also if you have your penis straightened with surgery there is a chance that your ed issues will improve as there's better blood supply in a straight penis than a curved. Not saying it will fix the issue but if you have an implant there's no going back.
Don't know if your on http://www.peyroniesforum.net but worth a read and maybe post for some feedback for peace of mind.

Re: First Implant Questions
Thanks for both replys. The article you referenced Merrix was very helpful and reassuring my Uro was on-point.
Re: First Implant Questions
My CX was very successful for my E.D. (but I don't have Peyronies).

Re: First Implant Questions
CX stiffer than LGX so typically CX or Titan used for a penis with Peyronies or longer length for more axial rigidity. Happy with my CX.
66 year old with ED intermittently for years and consistently for the 2 years before implant. Tried everything. AMS CX 21cm+1 cm RTEs Dr Kramer 4/29/2015.
Revision 5/3/2021 AMS CX 700 21cm+2 cm RTEs.
Revision 2022 Titan XL 24 cm no RTEs.
