9 days post op. Christmas eve by the way.

It is getting better. But slowly.
I still have pain and I still take Tylenol 2-3 times per day.
When on painkillers and laying flat down, there is no pain.
When standing up, e.g. to go to bathroom or to open door to receive food, the pulsating pain from penis and scrotum is still there and it is still bad. But - not quite as bad as 2 days ago.

My penis is still hard and pointing upwards. If standing up and not holding it, it will drop down to parallel or just above parallel to floor. Pushing it beyond parallel will hurt and I don't do it.
This does turn pissing in to a challenge. Using an angled bottle I got from the clinic, and that works fine. But without it I'd be forced to use the sink.

When did your dicks start to hang down? Before or after starting of cycling?

Overall, I'm feeling a bit better, but I have a looong way to go. Right now I am nowhere near returning to a normal life, which for me means wearing a suit, travel and sit in an office. That's nowhere near a physical challenging job, but I can't be standing upright for more than a few minutes without a pain which will be very clearly seen by anyone.

Eid called to check on me today. He was clearly relieved and happy to hear that I was making some tiny little progress.
He's a good guy and kept telling me to call him even tomorrow (christmas day) if something comes up.
On the flip side, I guess this also means that he is genuinely concerned about my slow recovery.
So am I, but what is important for me now is that there IS progress. Speed of progress comes second. Once there is NO progress at this stage, I guess it's time to get really worried.

By the way, my penis right now is nowhere near what I would call flaccid. It is actually as rigid as a top-class erection for me without pills and a just below average one when on pills.
Haven't measured it, but for sure it's far from the 16-16.5 cm it was erect pre-op. I'd guess 12 cm. Eid is however quite confident it'll be 16 or very close once the whole healing and stretching is done.
My sensitivity is clearly reduced in the shaft.
I couldn't help myself touching it a bit. Looked at some porn and ended up stroking it gently for a few minutes. Probably stupid, but I don't think it can hurt. Anyway, as said, lower sensitivity but I felt I could have reached orgasm if I had kept going just a while longer or if I had used just a little more force. But I stopped and called it a positive result of the test...
If this is supposed to be only marginally inflated, what the F is it going to be like when fully inflated? Baseball bat?

Merry Christmas to you all.

A lovely Christmas eve to you sir! If experience from 22 surgeries tells anything, I usually notice healing seems to improve more rapidly once I've reached 10 to 14 days out on the more major surgeries. Take it easy slugger. I remember a couple surgeries well when we could not wait to try to have sex long before the doc gave the go ahead. Feeling like giving it a little try is a sign you are getting better I.M.O.
Tonight I realized it is 60 days left to implant day. 14 days after that is my 32nd wedding anniversary. to early to plan a celebration? The thought of that made me smile. Only a few more days till you see your family merrix! cheers and be well! d

Merry christmas buddy. I'm sorry to hear about your complications, but it sounds like things are getting better, and you have a world class doctor who cares checking up on you. Can't ask for more than that in this scenario. Maybe I missed this in another post, but what kind of pants/underwear are you wearing for comfort?

Merry Christmas, Merrix! Sorry you are on your own in a hotel room but hopefully the improvement quickens in pace from here on out. In terms of how long it takes for a more comfortable normal position, Once you are fully deflated I think you will be a lot more comfortable. Comfortable underwear and possibly trousers that are a size larger in the waist I found really helpful as well. Since your cylinder length are very large, my guess is that deflation will be huge. I also have found that after 2-3 weeks, the implant definitely sticks out less and is more more willing to conform with your body when in a down flaccid state.

Thanks guys

Noon, day 10 post op

A surprisingly shitty night behind me. Yesterday I was feeling improvement had started, but a shitty night with pain back to level of early days surprised me.
That made me expect a bad day today of course, but surprisingly today is better again. Slightly better than yesterday I'd say. So far no pain killers today till noon which has never happened before. Don't know what last night was about...

My penis is according to Eid only marginally inflated. But it still points up at 2 o'clock. He says it's because everything is swollen and stiff and that it will give by time. However, as I said before, he says it was a bit of a gamble with the 24 cm cylinders. He tried 22 + 1.5 cm RTE during surgery as well. According to him, that would have given a more flaccid flaccid, but a more swively erection than this setup. He had to choose there and then what to go with, and he chose to go for maximum size and erection quality. We will see what the flaccid will look like in the future.
As it is now, I just can't see it ever hanging down. I could have sex with what I have now, it is definitely that stiff. But I'll have to trust him and just wait it out... Can't help to think though what it'll be like fully inflated if this is barely inflated at all..?

Underwear: I think the Jock straps I got from the clinic sucks. The waist band is pretty tight and it's not high enough to sit above the penis when it points up.
So I just use my regular boxer briefs and either pull them up high or wear them low, crossing right over the penis shaft.
This is not an issue now as I am just staying in my room and mostly lie flat back in my bed.
It will however be an issue once I start being more active.

try a larger jock strap on the outside of your briefs. it worked for me. Hope you have a good day and a better tomorrow

Merrix

I really like your remark here since that is what it is all about....

"what the F is it going to be like when fully inflated? Baseball bat?"

You are doing quite well in "handling" your situation. Dr. Eid was very attentive after my surgery which happened around the holidays several years ago. It takes time to heal and I wish you the best of results.

hang in there bud. You are doing pretty good doing this on your own with nothing but time on your hands. 1/2 the time men handle pain like they are girls and want a lot of hand holding while they whine and squeal and eat pain pills. I looked up a doctors name on my hospital account tonight. Noticed i had the prostatectomy on 9/12/09. On 10/8/09 I had a six hour surgery to remove a tumor in my chest. toward the end of that year we did a surgery every 28 days. 10 surgeries between 2/9/09 and 12/28/09. Considering, You are taking it like a man. If I can do it I know you can, especially fit and 10 years younger. It's a bitch but you can get through it! Expect things to soon take a leap for the better. Then plan on FANTASTIC! d

Thanks again for feedback and encouragement guys.

Day 12 post op, noon

Nights are bad. Stayed off pain killers for two nights but got back on them last night. Using half the prescribed dose. That gives me two hours of no pain and good sleep before waking up to pain and some half sleep for the rest of the night. Only thing that helps is just to get up and have a bath for 30 minutes. Total pain relief for the moment at least.

Still no pain killers daytime since day 9. The pain during day is definitely manageable.
Would be a different story if I was more active though. I still just stay in bed most of the time.

Today is definitely the best day though. Clear difference so far (it's only noon) from the last couple of days. The pulsating pain when standing up is less severe and disappears faster when lying down again. I started yesterday to increase frequency of baths. Took 4 yesterday instead of the 2-3 per day before. Will aim for 4-5 today. They really help.
Also using a heat pad as often as I can when not in bath. I feel that helps as well.
Maybe there is light in the tunnel of pain...

Less focus on pain today and hence increased focus on function.

Deflate valve is (as far as I can feel) pointing back to my body making it impossible for me as of today to get a thumb on it. Would be doable if pump was lower down, but now I just can't get my thumb in between the pump's valve and my body. Eid says it'll be fine with time. Hope he's right.

My penis is still what I would call erect enough for intercourse pointing up at 2 o'clock even though Eid says it is only marginally inflated. Find it hard to see how it's ever going to hang down. But I guess I'll have to trust the Doc...

Glad to hear that things are gradually improving. If I could offer wee bit of advice, stop playing with it for a bit. I know it's tempting, you want to get things figured out, but you're not really doing yourself any favours by manipulating it. You have ages to play all you want in a while. It ain't going anywhere!

Here's something else I have noticed. A tight scotum produces a lot less pain than a warm floppy one. The natural and articial bits find their spots and are held in place a lot more firmly than being free to swing about in a loose sac! Less chance for gravity to work its relentless tugging.

I hope things continue to improve for you.
