I didn't know that Vanderbilt did this kind of surgery. I live in Tennessee.

Wow, at those prices I never could have afforded to have an implant if I had to pay for it myself. I did not have the opportunity to go to any of the big names and chose a local surgeon, but I paid nothing for any part of my implant procedure (apart from the regular medical plan fees, about $75 per month. The same applied for my radiotherapy for prostate cancer, no cost to me.

I had to self pay for mine as the NHS in the UK wouldn't pay a penny That's why I'm really concerned in case I need a revision. I can't afford to pay for the whole thing again

Check out Dr Douglas Milam @ Vanderbilt. he has 30 years experience and is one of the top docs in the U.S. Does not advertise and put on videos like the other big names but does travel and work on technics with some of them. I think recently he said he was in Mountainveiw California doing implants with Dr. Karpman. They changed their web site again but here is the link I have. d

High BP, immune compromised, prostatectomy, have had 4 kinds of cancer, 4 hernia repairs and most doctors found one reason or another to make sure they did not have to deal with me. Dr. Eid was the first to say yes with no issues, but it is a logistics and expense of travel issue, Dr. Milam also said yes, his secretary calling several times to say he had no issues and stated that at appointment time, and then Dr. Karpman said yes, but again 2000 miles away, air travel, motels. Chose Milam as he said he would do the procedure the same as Eid, put in the type of implant I wanted, LGX, not a rod or 2 piece on not do it at all like 15 previous doctors, and it is only 1/2 day drive there. I think we can get by with $1000 total out of pocket expense for travel, meals, motel. Eid uses the Titan which does have fold issues I wanted to avoid. Milam uses the AMS/Boston implant. Perito never returned my calls but like Karpman in CA, it would be a warm place to travel and get it done. Did not call Morey in TX. If they have to carry guns in stores, church and schools in that state to prove they are a man, they must have too small of dicks. I do not want to end up with a small dick like armed Texans and have to start carrying a gun to prove I'm not a girl. d

I had mine done by Dr Evangelos Zacharakis at the Cadogan Clinic in London UK. The total cost was £13,000 ($19,000) which included everything, even two nights stay in the Grosvenor hotel. The only extras that I had to pay for was the room service in the hotel, and the train fare from Oxford to London.

Often here in the States, if you need a revision, you do not have to pay for the implant components again which can run $8k to $15k. I think some docs get better discounts. You only have to pay for the surgery cost and hospital costs which makes the revision cost less. I have to say here it has gotten to be the hospitals are more concerned about how and when they are going to be paid than about lab work and pre screening. I had no prescreening for Monday's anesthesia, first time that has ever happened but many calls about the insurance and guarantee of payment. Same yesterday on the implant. Vanderbilt wants to know they are not going to be shorted a cent. They want to make sure every cent is there in letter of credit, bank guarantee, insurance guarantee or a cash deposit. Barnes in St. Louis was the same way when I was trying to get this done last year too. One time they called wanting a payment guarantee of $30,000 before the initial doctor visit. I was what the hell? We don't even know if this guy is going to do it and you want the money guaranteed before I see him? Asshole would not do the implant anyway. d

I am looking at a possible revision since my initial implants is leaking or losing pressure someplace. I called Dr. Eid and Kramer and since I'm on Mecicare was quoted 3 and 4 grand respectively my cost on 1/7/16.
