Crinkling of Titan Cylinders when Deflated

Postby john74 » Wed Jan 06, 2016 11:56 am

This is my first contribution to this forum, although I have been reading it daily for the last six months. I was implanted with a Colorplast Titan on the 10th October last at the Cadogan clinic in London UK. The time factor between my initial enquiry and walking out of the clinic with the implant fitted was ten days, and the cost was £13,000 (or $19,000), which included two nights stay in a London hotel, and even the cost of the escort to the hotel after the operation which most people seem to have to pay extra for.
The whole thing went without a hitch, and now three months post-op its all healed up very nicely, and everything’s now working better than it ever has done in all the years that my wife and I have been married.
I only wish that I had had it done years ago, and based on my experience I would say to anyone contemplating an implant, go for it, you won’t regret it.
I only have one query which I thought that I could ask for advice here and that is the bunching up of the material of the cylinders at the base of the penis when deflated.
Merrix mentioned this a couple of days ago, and that is the first time that I have seen this mentioned on this forum. I was beginning to think that I was the only one.
I measure exactly six inches when full inflated, which reduces to 5 ½ when flaccid, so there is ½ inch of cylinder material that has to go somewhere. It feels as if it is all crinkled up at the base of my penis where the cylinders emerge from my body. It causes no pain or discomfort, but I can’t help wondering if this crinkling and folding of the cylinders will reduce their life. When I inflate the implant it all smooths out and the crinkling disappears, but it comes back again on deflation. I have tried pumping some fluid into the cylinders whilst deflated to try to correct this, but it needs so much that I am nearly fully erect before the crinkling disappears.
So my question is, am I causing this by doing the deflation incorrectly, although what I am doing is exactly what the doctor showed me on my final visit to the clinic, that is hold the valve whilst squeezing the penis, or is this crinkling just normal with the Titan implant.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Ive also had the same issue with my Titan since I got implanted. I've been cycling for over a week but it hasn't resolved it. Seems to only happen to the right cylinder.

Mine too. Only when I really deflate with a squeeze to the penis. Feels weird.

Yep, same here. There was a slight ridge or fold on the right side close to my body when deflated. Not problematic, and as the cylinders softer it became less evident. Now it's more of a fold. It always goes away with inflation after a few pumps so nothing to worry about.

Only my right side has this appearance, and and up shaft from base about an inch. Not sure why left side does not show this, must be below base. The lack of on left must contribute to bend to left of shaft in flaccid. Although not a nice cosmetic look when in the raw, all straightens out when inflated and in the time of need. If I want a more showy flaccid then I just add a few squeezes to pump. I do not give worry to the bulge/bend as long as inflation corrects. B

Same here - only on left side about half way down the shaft. Titan implanted about 19 mos ago. For the first several months, it bothered me occasionally because the sharp point of the crinkle or fold would feel like it was poking the inner side of the skin at that point on the shaft. I began giving it 1 or 2 pumps to put a little fluid into the shaft. I haven't noticed it in months now and had not thought of it till I saw this post. I guess the longer you have it, you just quit noticing some things like that.

Cheerio!

That's quite true. I also stopped paying attention to it recently. There are too many variables with implants and can't expect everything to be 100% perfect. However I don't know if this does reduce the life of the cylinders / implant.

I am 5 weeks post implant by Dr. Eid- I haen't started inflating the prosthesis on my own-I am to be oriented to the pump and deflate button tomorrow but I've noticed on the left side of my shaft just below the glans is an irregular bump that I don't have on the right-When Eid inflated it 2 weeks ago it disappeared but reappears in the flaccid state-If there's anyone who could offer advice I'd be appreciative
