I swear thus thing auto inflates. when I get up after laying down it will go from elastic holding it to the abdomen at 12:00 to pushing the elastic straight out to a 3:00 and hard as hell hurting. I have deflated it about 5 times now. Only way I can get a pop is to completely deflate till it stops buzzing, then pump it back up to what seems right. On call said to call the office and ask monday. Any suggestion? Pump has completely turned around. Button was on the rear. Now it is facing front. d

Didn't you have your surgery 4 days ago or so? You're made of much sterner stuff than me. No way I would have been pumping anything up after only a few days. Did you have a penal/scrotal incision? If you did, you probably shouldn't be playing around down there. Your incision has not healed and you are risking introducing bacteria into the wound. Yes, the pop occurs after the implant is deflated and if you are feeling that and the buzzing of fluid returning to the reservoir you are doing everything right! Are you supposed to keep it inflated part way?

After all your trials and tribulations getting here, please don't screw it up, not just yet anyway ;)

This thing has been auto inflating. I lay down penis is against abdomen. I start to get up out of bed or chair and as soon as I am 1/2 way up it would be at full mast 3:00 position and pushing the 2 inch wide elastic straight out. Very painful. I've finally got it to lock out so maybe I can leave it be. This model implant should never have been installed in this method and models, fluid engineering say it cannot work. Consulted with another doc and he says it cannot work either that only a Titan could work properly installed this way. surgery was 3 days 5 hours ago. d

alibaba,

The reason for partial inflation and upward pointing during healing is to keep scar tissues stretched out so that it doesn't draw up during healing. This is mostly applicable to scrotal method. You can deflate all the way and leave it there while healing and it won't hurt anything. It fact, it will aid in allowing the area around the reservoir to form a non-constricted cavity which is helpful for reducing auto-inflation potential.

Do what you and your doc feel are best. I deflated mine all the way (with the doctor's blessing) and it was the right thing to do in my case. If I were in your shoes, I'd just deflate the thing.

It will not deflate all the way.

Having followed your posts for quite a while, and having every expectation that all would be well with this surgery, it breaks my heart to see what's up.

Good luck!

Had an interesting call a few minutes ago. guy says he knows one of my doctors which I assume is how he got my number though as far as I know I've NEVER given my cell number to anyone. He said next time it auto inflates to go to the emergency room and gave me the name and phone numbers of 2 doctors. he told me to make an appointment in the morning with one, that this implant should not have been installed w/o extenders, only a coloplast can be installed that way. Said his first doc (gave me no name) installed his w/o extenders and it took 5 surgeries to correct it. Told me to see someone else ASAP before any scar tissue grows around this new implant. Last night wife again said I should have cancelled with Milam due to his attitude right before surgery when he said "and i will not discuss it". Told me this morning that I am not going back to him for follow-up then moved all of my things into a spare bedroom. She is major pissed that I let him operate when clearly something was off. I was to the point I would have walked across glass to get this implant after trying all these years. I've slept in the same room with her for 34 years. d

I'm not a Milam apologist but I will say he has done great by many here, and the only one who ever got it right with me once things starting going south. I've only spoke to him once in person prior to surgery, but many times via emails. He always gets back to me, but it can take a while sometimes. He generally never gets into a discussion about the surgery on surgery day. It's the assistant you have to talk to at that point. I didn't even seem him the day of the surgery (before or after). He came in when I was under, did the operation and left while I was asleep. I saw the assistant a few times. He told me that by the Time the doctor is ready to do the surgery, he has already got the strategy for his surgical plan it place and surgery day isn't the time to change that unless there is a problem. My other doctors always talked to me before the operation, but I guess he doesn't do it that way. I guess this could be his way of avoiding having that last minute discussion without having to say he's not going to discuss it again. I don't know there bro, just a shot in the dark.

Regarding the scar tissue forming (Tunica) you've got many months perhaps even more than a year before that's an issue. My 1st implant didn't have a tunica even after 18 months, but I'm a slow healer.

I've heard of the rear tip extenders not being used before your issue came along. I don't know much about that aspect so I won't comment on that one. I would call an AMS representative and ask them directly. You don't have to give them your name to get the answer. I've done this before with both AMS and Coloplast issues.

Sorry to hear about the wife, it seems a bit of an over reaction, but that's none of my business. We have all had our spouse issues to deal with at one time or another through all this. It's your body and ultimately your decision. I'm not saying she shouldn't be included and considerd, she should. In the end it's all up to you though. If she didn't agree with the decision then I guess some friction was to be expected. I've got 37 year of marriage under the belt myself. My wife told me she didn't want me to have another surgery. I told her it was going to happen weather she wanted me to or not. She accepted that and we moved forward. My health decisions are my own, but that's just me. Different strokes...

I suspect that your deflation issue has more to do with internal swelling than RTE's. That said, there's nothing wrong with seeing another doctor. I suspect that Dr. Milam would tell you that you aren't supposed to be articulating the pump so early and it's too soon to tell. I do know that if it's not right, he has no problem with correcting an issue weather it's his fault or not.

Good luck brother, you're in my prayers. Keep us posted.

Milam told me he would not discuss anything in October either.I thought at the time it was because I was the last patient and he wanted to go home like most the help had.
