3 weeks post op just started bleeding

Gentleman,I'm new to the forum and 3 weeks post op. Went to urologist yesterday and was told to start pumping up and deflating daily. SO my frist attempt to inflate went well not much pain .I found it hard to deflate.Also the pump was very hard to get started.About 1/2 hour after inflating went to the bathroom and notice that I started bleeding .So wait and start inflating in a few more days or am I going to need more stitches.I have the ams 700 ms .No bleeding till frist inflation so am I going backwards now . Any advice would be greatly appreciated

No emergency but I would call your urologist to see what is going on and where the blood is coming from. They should want to know.

If you are bleeding through he urethra you will want to contact your urologist right away. Don't panic, but you don't want the urethra to scab the tube closed. That would be a painful and life-threatening emergency.
Sorry; I don't mean to freak you out. It could also be nothing but you do not want to ignore this.

I had the exact same thing happen to me after 2 weeks post op. I think mine started from trying to clean the area during a shower around the time the stitches were dissolving. Bleeding was in the scrotum area where the pump and tubing were. It made cycling almost impossible (and I was told to cycle after 2 weeks). The bleeding just didn't stop for another 3 weeks and then I had slight oozing for another 2 weeks after that. All in all, not a pleasant experience but it did eventually stop by itself. I had to apply dressings throughout that period and keep putting pressure on the area.

Moetheman, thks for some insight were you able to continue cycling. As my scrotum as well was where the bleeding started after trying to cycle. Best to wait another week and try again or continue.I can't get in to see my Doc till next eeek.Thks jim

The doc checked it out and told me to continue cycling but the bleeding was pretty crazy if I tried to use the pump and even in a few seconds of trying to inflate it would start to bleed so much that it put me off cycling. What I did do was to inflate maybe a couple of times a week at that point but didn't really start daily cycling until the bleeding had stopped, I was still getting some oozing but that was more bearable. I would still have it checked out by your doc in the first instance (as I did) but chances are that it will heal by itself but its a very irritating issue and for me it dragged on for too long but it did eventually resolve.

Thanks to all here on frank talk . I have been laying low this week.No more bleeding now that I'm not cycing. Im hoping to play Cupid on Valentine's Day.It's been a long road been married 37 years Ed for 15y wifes looking fwd to Sunday I just hope it all works out. Going in to see Doc on monday.
