Many actually do, depending on your employer. Unfair or not, the higher end the job the better the health insurance. CEOs have better health insurance than janitors. My health insurance covered it because fortunately teachers tend to have good health insurance. Medicare covers it.

Most insurances do cover it, especially if they also cover breast implants after a mastectomy (they improve the quality of life, not required to stay alive -- same as with an implant). I also understand that some doctors' offices will go to bat for you with your insurance company.

Most insurers will cover penile implants if they are medically justified. But, they do not grant approval willy-nilly. Dr. Kramer's office did a great job working with me and my health insurer to get pre-approval for my surgery. I would expect that the staffs' of other high volume surgeons have similar experience and success and this is another reason to consult a high volume surgeon.
