How long do tubes stay sore?

Postby DonBecker54 » Thu Feb 18, 2016 11:11 pm

I had wanted my pump to be in the rear of my scrotum, but after a week it migrated to the front and I couldn't get it to stay in the back. Now I have the tubes coming in at about the 2:45 position. They stick out a bit, rub against my leg and pants, and get sore. This also makes crossing my legs uncomfortable.

I don't think I've seen anyone mention tubes before. Do they stay sore or become more comfortable with time?

I don't quite have the problem of tubes rubbing up against my legs, but I do have similar pump placement issues. My pump is too frontal and high, and if I grab the bottom half of my shaft with my hand, the pump rubs up against the lower part of my hand. Pretty awkward feeling. Have you thought about a minor pump revision to lower everything? I'm considering it.

I've noticed my tubes give less discomfort if I can deflate to the max but even with 2-3 pumps they get stiff and really irritating. The tubes are stiff like wire with a couple pumps or more but nearly soft and flexible at maximum deflation which takes laying down and more than one deflate attempt. 37 days from implant day and they still remain quite sore around penis and where they harass the right nut like a damned telemarketer. I was told yesterday the only real fix for me is going to be to move everything to the scrotal implant position. Then there would be one tube around penis, hopefully better placed. Though a heavier made and larger tube, the reservoir tube does not stiffen as it really is never under pressure. Hope you fair better soon!

C_lab34, I don't want more surgery unless it's really necessary.

I started out with the pump in the rear. About a week after surgery, during the night, the pump migrated around the front at about the 2:00 position. I was concerned, but didn't know if I should move it. I didn't know if the tubes could get tangled up with the vas deferens tubes.

I called the surgeon's nurse, but there was snow in the forecast, and she just said "I have to get home before the snow. Just don't touch anything." That was the conversation. I called a couple more times, but she just shut me down.

I finally called another urologist, and he said that the pump will migrate until the scar tissue is firm. He said that takes about two weeks, which is how long it had been since surgery when I talked to him. I tried moving it back, but couldn't get it to move. I could have the first time I talked to the nurse. That really pisses me off something fierce.
