Electrician, try moving things around when it gets hard and see if it suddenly pumps easy. That is the way mine has been from day one.

Thanks to you Franktalk guys I was having some issues with auto-filling so I did a Google search and ended up right back at Franktalk where I learned after pressing the deflate button for 4 seconds and then squeezing my penis to complete deflation, you are supposed to give one quick pump to prevent auto-inflation. I tried it, heard the pop and no more auto-filling today. So, I would assume it is ready for those slow steady pumps to inflate if I heard the pop of the valve. I will give it a try tomorrow.
Problems began in 2011 at 51 yo. I did testosterone/HCG/Anastrozole but it didn't fix erections. Pills and tri-mix worked then failed. Had AMS 700 CX installed on Feb 2nd 2016 by Dr. Thomas Walsh at University of Washington.

This is from one of my prior post.............
Dr. Dineen in his paper describing the VED Protocol, he stated he starts his patients inflating at 9 to 12 days after the op. However other papers found most patients were not comfortable [read painful :o ] inflated that soon. One paper said the average person started the inflation per the VED Protocol Therapy was 43 days.

I started the VED Protocol weeks before my IPP. I believe this conditioned me for post-op inflation. Dr. Cornell activated me at 33 days, was able to pump to the max two days later and continued going for a total of 60 minutes for several months. This means I would do 30 in the morning and 30 at night, do to time constraints. At nine weeks post-op and somewhere around week 7 to 8 weeks it became less painful to pump to the max, i.e. the pump is flat. Since you are breaking the scar tissue you will have some discomfort for brief periods of time. You can always push the deflate button if it is too painful.

The pump will get easier to use the more your inflate it. I use a curled indexed finger and push my thumb against it. Am right handed, pump with my right and deflate with my left. At about 10 weeks I started pumping with my left hand, come to find out the pump rubber had not been soften for that position. So I had to work on pumping with my left to soften up the rubber.

Cycling: At inflation my doc wanted me to recycle three times a day, each time going one more pump than the last. Don't remember how long. After a couple of days I was comfortable enough to hold for an hour with the pump flattened. Then I followed the VED Protocol Therapy, the paper suggest 60 minutes a day. The paper suggests at three months you will have gotten the maximum benefit (length). However others on FT and online blogs have said additional length can be reached up to 18 to 24 months. I made it a habit of always pumping to max in the shower and continue through morning grooming with a Fleshlight (Stamina Training Unit) Shower Mount attached to my bathroom sink top.

I think I was able to pump to max because 1. had done the VED Protocol Therapy Pre-Op and 2. I was further along in the healing process than you. I don't see the advantage of rushing to inflate if it is painful as I think you should be able to flatten the pump each time (maximum). At eight months post-op and had reached pre-op length.

Good luck, welcome to the brotherhood.

2 and one half weeks seems kind of soon to me but if it's ok with your Dr. then go for it. I found that for first few times doing it in a hot bath helped a lot. My uro made me wait 6 weeks which seemed a bit conservative to me. I cheated and started at 4 to 5 weeks. After one year at times it still seems hard but you will perfect your technique in time and all will be heavenly.
I felt just like you for the first couple of weeks. Never thought I would get it but I did. You will too. Believe me.

My doc is also making me wait 6 weeks. Until today I didn't care but a month without any sex is begging to get to me. Today I decided to grease up my semi and just massage the old boy. It felt good, got a glans erection but no orgasm. That's fine since previous to this I was unable to touch my sensitive penis. Slowly getting some of the functionality back.

Not having been activated yet, sorry for dumb question:-
I can FULLY understand how people can work better with the pump in or after a hot bath, but what about the opposite.
Even before IPP , when it's cold the scrotum scrunches up tight against the underside.
Does that make it difficult for new cyclists to find/work the pump?

A month? I haven't had sex since August (long story). I went three years without sex before getting a divorce.

First inflate coming next Tuesday and just learning my way around pump and release. Stitches still above release so a little touchy. I too want to have sex and reading here some men can't have an orgasm for some reason. I have blood flow and the head does enlarge and a few days ago I wanted to see if I could still cum. Little sore but I was able to and what a relief. Only partial inflate from surgery but penis head and areas of shaft still fill with blood. I have been very lucky to not have "Floppy Head" as some call it and believe it has a lot to do with the surgeon. Dr. Kramer did mine and have the AMS/LGX.

April 2nd was my first inflate on my own and went very well. Only pumped 4 or 5 time and fully erect. Pictures can be seen here and at My Journey under implants and will be taking more as I gain length and girth per doctor. Release is still a little hard for me but will get better over time. I will inflate later today and pump up 8 times to see if any difference. This week I will pump once a day and next week I will go to twice a day and 10 to 20 minutes each time. As I will be out of town, will play with fleshlight to see how it feels and have fun.
