Finally received my surgical records from Vanderbilt by email after multiple requests over the past 22 days. They sent a PIN number to a page where i had to pay $4.68 to see 17 pages, 3/4 of which were the bill for $4.68 and how I intend to pay and the 4 page fax requesting records, my med list prior surgery, prior surgery list, future appointments with another urologist of their chosing and such things. The gist of the entire doctor's report by Milam is we had extensive conversations in October and again prior to surgery where all questions were answered and again after surgery. Said the surgery was simple and I was pleased. Hard to read it to my wife with her screaming "that's not true" every other sentence, but I got through that. Positively the biggest load of horse shit I've read in years. I am NOT AMUSED.

I am so sorry, alibaba. Horse shit really stinks!
Re: Horse $#it
Agreed. I have read many surgical records over the years and much of the information normally included is not there but there are substantial lies about the long conversations we supposedly had but never did. Nothing but ass covering and justification for billing for an "extensive" office visit.

I had the same BS from my surgeon writing a letter to my GP saying I was delighted with the length and the outcome. The most blatant lie. Wish I could do something to the idiot.

This is the second time in 7 years a doc has written complete bullshit in my record. Sorry you had the same experience. Interesting he has sent the same 1.5 page crapola to the new doc. Well your doctor says right here...........

Not sure an attorney will sue over bad documentation. Documentation can be used if a bad outcome or concerns by insurance company that fraud done and things not done but billed for. Documentation is often in a template form where all the must say documentation re side effects and informed consent already in place and doc fills in any exceptions or special stuff. Makes the notes feel wrong a lot of the time since you as the patient will remember differently at times. Too bad it happened on top of results but bad documentation by itself not a reason to contact attorney and it will be a he said he heard situation since no videotape of the conversation. Sorry.

Re: Horse $#it
Actually this is the first time I have ever considered litigation against a doctor. I know medicine is not a finite science, but this guy has been an ass all along and Vanderbilt not much better. Their ONLY concern is getting paid and guarantees of that up front on EVERYTHING including the records. Too much withheld information too. Resident told me they worked over an hour trying to cut fibrotic tissue out of one side. No mention of that, measurements, other than implant dimension and many other things. Still no serial number or any of the other information on the implant that AMS said should have been provided. More like a vague standard answer for all with a few modificiations. Will see what next doc says about it.

That's weird you didn't get a card with operating instructions and the actual stickers from the implant. You should have those for sure. I use it if questions with TSA or future recalls. Sorry you got such iffy communication.

I got a 6 page card with operating instructions, the name of the facility it was installed Vandebilt Medical Center and the model AMS LGX written in along with my cell phone number. That is all. I do not intend to allow a TSA agent to read the instructions and try to operate my implant. He will be on his ass in a heartbeat if he tries. They could make a card that fits in a card holder. That would be nice. The way this thing juts out at the bend and pump out front, a pat down will surely raise questions. The bend actually shows through anything but heavy jeans.
