Re: Horse $#it
Lol I hadn't thought about them trying to operate the implant. Then I could be accused of trying to sneak a weapon on board. I only use the picture of the back page with the stickers having size model and serial number. Shows I am not hiding anything.
66 year old with ED intermittently for years and consistently for the 2 years before implant. Tried everything. AMS CX 21cm+1 cm RTEs Dr Kramer 4/29/2015.
Revision 5/3/2021 AMS CX 700 21cm+2 cm RTEs.
Revision 2022 Titan XL 24 cm no RTEs.
Revision 5/3/2021 AMS CX 700 21cm+2 cm RTEs.
Revision 2022 Titan XL 24 cm no RTEs.
Re: Horse $#it
If that thing is a weapon I hope it is a howitzer! No stickers here. I could have had one of the grandkids fill out a card found on the sidewalk for all they know. Going to a meeting Monday and will ask another person with implants if they have stickers on their card.

Re: Horse $#it
I have the serial number stickers on my AMS card.

I know medicine is not a finite science, but this guy has been an ass all along and Vanderbilt not much better. Their ONLY concern is getting paid and guarantees of that up front on EVERYTHING including the records. Too much withheld information too. Resident told me they worked over an hour trying to cut fibrotic tissue out of one side. No mention of that, measurements, other than implant dimension and many other things. Still no serial number or any of the other information on the implant that AMS said should have been provided. More like a vague standard answer for all with a few modificiations. Will see what next doc says about it.
It wouldn't hurt to see if an attorney believes you have a actionable tort. There are tons of lawyer referral websites on the internet. Some lawyers will talk to you over the telephone, and some offer free consultation. Making such an inquiry will cost you only time, not money. I've done this on more than one occasion for a variety of issues. In some cases the lawyer said there was nothing that could be done legally. In others I have had settled out of court with the help of an attorney.
One thing my dad taught me: Never leave your money laying on the table.

Documentation is often in a template form where all the must say documentation re side effects and informed consent already in place and doc fills in any exceptions or special stuff. Makes the notes feel wrong a lot of the time since you as the patient will remember differently at times. Too bad it happened on top of results but bad documentation by itself not a reason to contact attorney and it will be a he said he heard situation since no videotape of the conversation. Sorry.
Attorneys sue for damages. I'm not an attorney but have retained one on more than one occasion for a variety of reasons. It appears to me that our brother has been damaged and is entitled to be made whole and entitled to compensation for his pain and suffering. You wrote that you're "not sure." Neither am I. That's why I suggested contacting an attorney. It wouldn't hurt and because many attorneys offer free consultation, it won't cost a dime.

Re: Horse $#it
To sue for damages you have to have another doc that says things are screwed up by the first doc. That generally is not easy because most docs will not testify against another. The brotherhood of cover each others ass. That has been part of the issue trying to get this damned thing fixed. It seems 1/2 the docs think I want to use them to go after doc number one. I just want it fixed, but the more Vanderbilt and Milam jack me around the more I am thinking otherwise. One of my school chums who I am still friends with won the largest malpractice case ever awarded in the state so I have no concerns finding a barrister to litigate. I just really don't want to go there, but my frustrations have a limit which is approaching.

In my experience, to sue for damages you have to show you have been injured due to a deliberate action or by someone's else's negligence. This is often shown by one's own testimony, the testimony of one's spouse, and documentation. Also, you don't need a doctor to testify that another doctor "screwed up." You only need medical evidence that your condition was caused by the action taken by another. It's up to a judge, jury or arbitrator to decide whether the doctor "screwed up."
Very few cases reach the latter point because very few cases go to trial. Also, many lawyers have doctors who will testify that another doctor "screwed up." I've sued a few people in my time; not one has gone to trial but often I've been paid. I don't understand why anyone would be unwilling to make the inquiry to an attorney since such an inquiry costs nothing, but It's your life and your money that you're potentially leaving on the table.

Re: Horse $#it
Alibaba, I have inquired about my implant with my Doc and why they didn't keep the implant information. AND THEY said that that AMS keeps it on file That I would not need it.I call Bs on that .So I don't know what the put in. MY DAUGHTER is a nurse and said I can gather a copy of the surgery report from the hospital. But like u said they can put any crap they what in that in there?NOT sure that would worth the trouble and time to try and get.
Implanted 01/2016,AMS Cx at 56 had Ed for years ,On the pills (18yr) and injection (5yrs) married 37 years .Hope to use this inplant for years to come.
Re: Horse $#it
I have the surgery report. It just says "placed an AMS LGX 21 cm". No other information such as lot number, serial number, product I.D. I know a number or people who have had recalled implanted devices. Batteries, wires, heart valves, pacemaker, aortic screen, hips, knees. How would you know you have a recalled device if that should come up w/o pertinent information? For all I know this annoying thing is a Chinese knockoff. Monday I have a meeting with a person with an implant who is also in the medical field. I am going to inquire. We had a discussion about implant cards a couple months ago so we will continue the conversation. since I am the one with the key to the county building, we usually get there a little early so we will have time to talk before others arrive.
