Just went for my first inflation today at 6 weeks. Damn, that pump hurts! I don't think I even got it squeezed 1/3 of the way. I wore an ice pack on the drive home.
Why don't the manufacturers break in the bulbs before they ship? Surely they can be sanitized.
It's also weird to have a female assistant do the inflation. I told her that, years back, one of us would have been arrested. Probably her, since she was being paid to do it.

My guess is the bulb will last longer if it's hard off the assembly line. I try to be nonchalant about females nurses and PAs touching my penis. One nurse reached for my penis and I told her, "Aren't you at least going to buy me a drink and sweet talk me a little first?"

But during the time it's too hard to squeeze, it's not being used. It's only after the user can squeeze it that he can use it.

Re: Suggestion to manufacturers
This is an excellent question and the answer is that with only two manufacturers they don't because they don't have to as you''ll buy it anyway. Has zero to do with longevity of the bulb.
This will change but unfortunately it's years down the road.

I agree. I would prefer a male do the inflation/deflation.
Re: Suggestion to manufacturers
I wou ld think that early on at least part of the difficulty is caused by having to break up scar tissue that forms around the tubes. No easy way around that.
