Re: Can't inflate past where implant was after surgery
Are you saying that both guys whose surgeries were that screwed up had those surgeries done by Milam?
Re: Can't inflate past where implant was after surgery
No. Both had surgeries in Missouri at a teaching university, then Illinois and at teaching universities, then to Chicago for the fix that made things as right as possible after that many revissions. 4 for one and 5 for the other.
Point is, why let him have a chance to mess it up again. Get it right the next time and not have to keep getting it done till you find a new doc.
There was one person a year or two ago on FT that had his messed up by Milam who wanted a second go at it but he went to Cornel ( I think ) in Texas. It was a Texas doc, and had his redone. I'd have to read a thousand threads again to find it. At the time I thought it was a fluke of bad luck and persisted in getting this done as Milam said he had no issue as all others here sang his praises as if he were the messiah.

Teaching universities? Why would anyone go cheap on his penis?
I thought yours was a fluke until this problem. Maybe there's something with the pump I'm just not getting, although I don't know what. I'm pretty mechanically inclined. Built and repaired all sorts of things. The pump isn't much more complex than a Windex bottle.

Becker - where and why does it stop for you? At a semi or something hard enough for good sex? And does the bulb get too hard for further compressions or does it stay soft but pressing it just does not inflate further?

When I was semi-inflated after surgery, I was at about 2". They kept me that way for two weeks. Now when I try to inflate, that's as far as it will go. It couldn't be used for screwing a mouse. The first couple of pumps to get it to that 2" mark are easy. After that, I can use both index fingers and both thumbs, and it's like trying to squeeze a steel ball bearing. No movement at all. I'm certain that, if I used vice grips, it wouldn't move unless it was to break.
I don't feel any pressure from the cylinders. Everyone talks about the pain from inflating the first couple of weeks or months. I don't feel even a tiny bit of pressure from them, which tells me that the cylinders aren't moving.
If the tubes were kinked, I would think the penis wouldn't inflate to the 2" mark.
As for the "why", if I knew why, I'd be getting it fixed.
Re: Can't inflate past where implant was after surgery
Mine gets hard but if I change positions and/or move things around it will pump unlimited till it gets hard and something needs repositioned again. Has to be something to do with the way it is installed for 2 different brands to do the same thing. Mine will not grow in size either and much smaller than before surgery. Here in the midwest the teaching universities are supposed to be the best. Urology seems to be the exception. They are affiliated with the largest hospitals in the state and very little cost savings as you may note from your Vanderbilt bill.

I don't have a Vanderbilt bill, at least I haven't seen one. I have Medicare, and I got a supplemental plan that pays every last dime for whatever Medicare doesn't pay. It costs triple what the usual Medicare supplement plan does, but I figured it was worth it for this surgery.
If I need a revision, I I wonder if Medicare will pay?

Re: Can't inflate past where implant was after surgery
kemister is correct about litigation. I was involved in a medical case many years ago. Went to trial 3 times. 1 mistrial and won two. It took 4 years and untold stress. Hundreds of hours of my time. After winning it still cost me more than we we gained. I am currently in litigation in a damage suit. I've been at this one 4 years and we still have not gotten to depose everyone nor gone to trial. It is stressful, expensive, corrupt, and just plain maddening. When you go against corporate they seem to spare no expense fighting you even though it would cost less to settle. It is the cost of doing business and deductible for them. I've have 3) $450 per hour lawyers defending against me now for 4 years. I would have to look up how many court appearances but I would assume around 30 or so. The claim I have could have been paid for $60k. In a medical case they are going to expect you to parade your dick around, dig into your sex life and every dirty trick yet to be thought of between man and viperous animal. I guarantee that they will try to embarrass you into dropping it. If you wish, with his permission too, I can put you in contact with a person who had implant issues and sued his doctor. I do not remember if he won monetarily but I know he got his implant issue resolved to his satisfaction. It always helps to have the experience of someone who has been there when torquing the nuts on these people. I hope it never needs to come to that.

Re: Can't inflate past where implant was after surgery
I've 9 years to go to be old enough for Medicare yet but wife has it. I've talked to some and my understanding they will pay for a revision. Some of the doctors I discussed the implant with preferred Medicare to private insurance and some even suggested I wait till Medicare age. I guess they think patience is unlimited since it is not their own non working dick. At the price they charge for an implant, I would say your supplement is a good deal, especially if you may have to pay more than once. They billed my insurance $27,000 for the prosthesis. Interestingly, Eid says the device would run between $8 and $12k self pay. My insurance premium is over $2200 but providing they do not pull the go after the first doc or wait 2 years to see if it "recovers" bit and I get it fixed this year, it will cost me nothing but time and travel expense. Beyond this year, unless it can be proven an adverse effect of the first surgery, I will be on the hook for part of it. I've a bill from Vanderbilt now but 1/2 notion to let it ride till they get nasty. Being it is a small percentage of the $69,000 + they billed I do not think it will starve them out. I've already sent them one payment. I usually try to pay ahead of time. This time I look at it as "You do not answer my requests, then why should I respond to yours?".

Re: Can't inflate past where implant was after surgery
Are you and I the only Milam patients here who've had problems? It's possible my problem is a defective pump, so that really wouldn't constitute a Milam problem per se.
The biggest issue I've had aside from this inflation problem is the lack of communication. They really need to fire MaryAnn, and they should have a sheet of FAQ's for patients. If there had been such a sheet, and it addressed migration of the pump and a bump on the cylinder, I wouldn't have needed to call.
