I lost length. Milam told me 3 minutes before surgery that my penis would be smaller and " we are not going to discuss it". I can see part of that loss is guaranteed by the infrapubic wad of tubing I have. Eid does not use that approach. Other reasons for loss? I have no idea. 2 times now the AMS rep told me that everyone loses length. brand specific? I do not know. 74 days post implant and I wish I'd never had an implant though I can relate over 1/2 the issues to the method of installation. Not specifically the doctor that did it but the way he chooses to install.

I didn't lose anything either. And I think that some guys' losses may have been caused by things like surgery (e.g. prostatectomy) and/or atrophy (no expansion or stretching or anything similar for some time that caused the tissue to shrink up). My feelings are that a properly-sized implant that is properly inserted by a well-trained and -experienced prosthetic urologist (as they are called technically) will not cause the penis to shrink. Is my penis the same as when I was younger? No. But neither is the rest of my body either.

David_R, the possible reasons for loss you list are long term prior to implant issues. I think most who complain about loss of length are like me comparing day before surgery and after surgery. Yes I lost length after the prostatectomy years ago. I 've posted that. I really did not expect to lose as much again with the implant. There are those here who would say they would be glad to have a 5 inch dick and I understand that. If I had 4 1/2 I'd love 5 too. Going from 9" to 7.25" was disheartening. Going from 7.25 erect to 5 is once more. Combined it is hard to swallow. It would be like having a 5 inch dick and ending up with 3. The percent loss is what is relative.
It is very heartening to read people who have no loss. Gives hope that possibly the ones with issues can be repaired.

After developing ED Post-Prostatectomy in February 2004, I was implanted with the Coloplast Titan IPP in December 2007 by Dr. Hossein Sadeghi-Nejad at Hackensack University Medical Center in NJ.
I did not lose length and definitely now have more Penile Girth.
My wife and I have been fully enjoying my Titan Implant for the past 8 years and counting.

bob, I've been keeping a mental tally of the people who say they like their Titan since Eid told me that would have been a more appropriate selection so the install would be correct. Although many like their CX or LGX, it has seemed lately more like their Titans. It would be interesting to see the monthly sales volume of each. At one point one web site said around 200,000 implants total had been installed ( all brands combined) but I do not remember the year of the post.

If I remember right, AMS has about 70-80% market share.
Among the high volume docs, it is the opposite though.

I have been told an AMS is easier to install, which is one reason they are more popular among the low volume surgeons.
Whether it is true is nothing I can guarantee...

Easier to install is interesting. I thought about this for a few minutes and can see why. AMS offers a model preasembled plus the antibiotic coating is pre applied. Coloplast has to be soaked in antibiotics. That brings up the questions: Do some doctors prefer AMS because the want speed, are lazy, or lack the skill and inclination to assemble the product for a proper fit? Then is there the group who prefers one over the other because the kickback from the manufacturer is greater on one brand?

Going thru this myself
I saw 2 surgeons. Supposedly they do a lot of implants and recommended.

Dr # 1 told me that I can lose length. He has to tell me that.
Then he told me I would not loose any length because of the way he puts in the implant.
He does so many of them.
As opposed to other surgeons.
On this site I have seen at least 1 that used same guy and says he lost lenght.
Think thier are more men that have lost length.

The catch is he measures from bone to top of head.
Says in total I will be 15cm
I don't have any left to loose.
Had only 2 office visits to get outcome.

Dr # 2 told me 1st 2 office visits that I would not lose any length.
Told me that any good surgeon would tell me that I could loose length . Told me I would not loose any length because
he does so many of the surgerys and his technique. He said good chance I would game slight amount.
His assistant does the measuring he does operation.

Last office visit only to get results for size. Told me I would be 11.5cm plus the head.
He measures it differently than 1st Dr.
(They also know each other)

With this guy even with difference in measuring I would loose more length.
He had his assistant do measuring to cover his backside if I go after him legally.
He has 2 Dr's against me instead of 1

He was able to get 3 office visits pad out what he gets paid from insurance co

He offered me to do a lengthening procedures I would have to pay out of pocket. (Not cheap)
Then I would be closer to what the other Dr measured.
I guess my poker face was not covering my disappointment.
He then started BS answers and telling me a story trying to sell me on getting it done.
He knew I was going to walk.

Told him I was thing of trying shockwave therapy to re-gain length lost. He told me that was "bullshit" and it does not work.
He said does not work but he could make money doing procedure. As far as I know it currently not available in US, awaiting FDA approval. So he can not do it. I did not call him out in that.

If I do get the implant I will use 1st Dr. Don't appreciate so mush BS from 2nd Dr.
Odds are I will get the implant later down the road.

If you are 21cm going into operating room and you loose a little it is not that bad. If you do not much to loose
you just trashed your dick with few options for improving situation.
Only one that came out ahead is the Dr that just made a few car payment off you.

They are salesman. Reading this site I have come to learn that not everyone is completely satisfied.
Aside from what I have seen here their are more problems with implant.
After you have it done no turning back. It is basialcy final. No more natural orgasms.
I can not understand how sensation would be close to what it was before the implant.
Say a post of someone asking about new implants. I guess other people also feel that the implant could be better.
Thinking of getting implant. Have not done it because of the length I
have lost.

Dr Eid is my surgeon. I am quite happy with him. I feel I am in the best of hands. My last visit with him I jokingly told him he can't retire. He responded by saying he never wants to.

In fitting me with an implant he came in a bit longer than I thought. Part of it I think was improperly measuring my dick. Also my dick had shriveled a bit when soft. He stretched it out to where it should be.

My only concern is that if and when I need a replacement I will be able to find another world class surgeon.
Implanted with Titan 1/15/19 with Dr. Eid.
6-length 4.5-girth.
