Vagabond,
Only you can know how limiting your current situation is. In my case, I went years with ever worsening ED but even at the end I could sometimes get an maintain an erection for a short time. However, it wasn't reliable or usable long enough to reach ejaculation most of the time. I was not a candidate for injections. The pills never really worked and gave me horrible side effects. Pumping was vetoed. I got an implant and am extremely pleased with the result and wish I had gone ahead at least five years earlier.
That said, you need to have realistic expectations. You may lose length. It is mechanical. Some partners may be weirded out by it. At your age you will probably have to have at least one replacement. All of this is true even if nothing goes wrong. Given that you are still partially functional, it is particularly important that, should you go ahead with this, you go to one of the very best surgeons. It seems like you are in communication with Dr. Eid and he is in that category. Given the number of posts you have done, you seem to be kind of anxious and may need to consider the surgeons reputation for post-surgery availability. I expect you will have questions and worries and some (not naming names here) seem to consider their job to be done when you are discharged from the hospital.
Good luck in making your decision.
Doc Says I Have No Medical Signs Of Ed
Re: Doc Says I Have No Medical Signs Of Ed
I am sixty-six years of age and dealing with gradually worsening ED for twenty years. At sixty-three I wanted something that worked reliably. I got an AMS 700 LGX implant in 6/25/13. I am entirely pleased with the outcome. My surgeon was Dr. Karpman.
Re: Doc Says I Have No Medical Signs Of Ed
Well said merrix and c_lab. I would also add that it is possible that with an implant you are so uncomfortable that even with a working prosthesis that you do not want to have sex. I am at that point now. We went from 30 minutes trying to now at 2 minutes I need to deflate this thing now. As bad as I loathed the vacuum pump, constriction rings, stuffy nose from the PDE5 inhibitors I am still having to take and the trouble it was getting to be to inject, I would go back to that in a heart beat if I could now. Do not give up looking for an answer, then study it well. I know couple guys who went to many doctors ( one for years) and could not find their problem, then both did. Along the way there were many snake salesmen trying to sell them quick fixes without ever investigating their issues. People mention testosterone being an issue but one of them had another hormone out of wack that was his entire issue, one seldom tested.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

And just to avoid the shit storm from all the members of the Hallelujah-club:
I am not unhappy with my implant. I am glad I did it. It works great. I chose the best combo of device and doc and it works perfect I'd say.
But that doesn't mean I think it's right to advice anybody wanting a bigger harder dick to get a dick prosthesis. I think we must keep people at reasonable exceptions. I think it is easy to sit with one's natural dick in front of a computer and read about some anonymous people on a forum posting that 'it's the greatest thing ever, just do it' and get carried away.
Another problem is that almost nobody bothers to give some background story. Meaning in many cases info from here is more or less useless. The experience of an 80 year old man with 5 types of cancer and a broken back who hadn't had a natural erection for 30 years is not really relevant for a physical active 25 year old with only partial ED. And vice versa.
That's why the signature field in bottom is so useful. Just a few lines about these issues would make a huge difference in judging the relevance of a particular post for a particular reader.

Re: Doc Says I Have No Medical Signs Of Ed
I got my implant when I was 65-years old, one year ago. During an operation in 2007 most of the nerves vital for erections were cut, so there was no chance that erections would return.
However I can't imagine that I would have wanted an implant at a 'young' age, rather would have hoped that a less drastic solution is soon coming around the corner. Till that operation I didn't know how to spell ED. Lucky me!

I would also advise to think very carefully about the implant decision. I was also able to have some success with the pills before the implant but it was declining with time and pills were becoming almost useless but would then work sometimes. I decided to go for the implant but didn't have realistic expectations or rather didn't want to think about any negatives. I went into it being very optimistic but my first result was far from ideal and I dreaded the decision for a while. My initial concern was size but also it took a while to mentally adjust to having a mechanical device inside me. I'm not sure if I could go back that I wouldn't be implanted but I think I arrived at the decision by filtering out negatives and just seeing the procedure as an end to the suffering resulting from the ED.
Even though I've had a revision now and currently recovering, my expectations are far more realistic now, especially from reading journals from Merrix, C-lab and alibaba. I think the prosthesis will give me a hard dick and possibly return some length, but beyond that it won't fix anything else. Relationships still need to be worked on, positive mental attitude won't come by default. From years of suffering with ED I think the mind will fill that void with some other negative crap even if the implant is successful. I think it takes a significant adjustment, physically and mentally to get out of the ED mess, especially for a younger person. We just have much higher expectations as we have more functioning "competitors" at our age. The thing that worries me most is having to pump up in front of a partner and how they would react. Yes it may be possible to do it by stealth but I don't like the thought of that. Having ED is not our fault and we shouldn't have to be ashamed of it, but unfortunately the real world is a harsh place.
So not sure what advice to give you but do have a balanced view and don't go into it thinking you'll be a Robosex cyborg of some sort with no disadvantages. Read Merrix''s journal beginning to end to understand the pros and cons. Some of the others haven't been that lucky so far so we don't have the pros of the implants, only the cons.

That worry put aside as quickly as possible. Look, a lot of women use dildos and vibrators. Do you really think a woman would mind having a toy with real warm flesh around??? What about a woman with silicon breasts, would you avoid her? A woman will quickly realize that you can give her much more fun but obviously if you are a bore when it comes to sex then an implant won't help you. I know an author, he told me that his girlfriend often comments that he 'gives her the best sex of her life'. He has an implant since a couple of years and he is not only good in writing books... When I'm pumping up in front of my girlfriend a big smile appears on her face, she knows what is coming...

Re: Doc Says I Have No Medical Signs Of Ed
I would echo the concerns others have expressed here. I am a part of the hallelujah club here but membership in that club is not guaranteed by letting someone cut your penis and stick tubes, cylinders and pumps inside. Many otherwise healthy guys have had bad outcomes and regrets about their irreversible procedure. If you don't have a situation that couldn't be worse then you shouldn't get a transplant unless you have tried everything else including couples and sex therapy. One urologist in the Boston area won't even see you for a implant unless you are pre screened for psychological issues which I think should probably be mandatory. As Merrix has said along with others an implant will when it works correctly only make your penis hard enough to be pushed inside a partner. That's it. It won't make your penis handsome or bigger or better and will make you crazy if you are already bordering on obsessed with your natural but un dependable penis. Implants are a last resort period. My one suggestion is that you get all the options including counseling before doing an implant as quickly as possible. Do give each medical or psychological therapy a fair trial takes time so get on it and try them all. If you have truly gotten to a point where everything else doesn't work a fair amount of the time (even not 100% of the time is better than never with a non functioning penis post failed implant) then consider an implant. And reading some of the posts here makes me stress even more that the younger people are the more psychological issues that come from the unfairness of ED in a young person. That psychological issue needs to be fixed first so that your penis doesn't become more important than the rest of your life including friends and family. Think long and hard about not just a long and hard theoretical penis that may not exist for you even with an implant. My wife and I agreed we would be fine without a functioning or with a functioning smaller penis in our life before I took the chance. And I am a guy that is extremely happy with mine because mine works and is as big as ever. But no one can guarantee my result for you. Run away if any doc gives you a 100% guarantee.
