Sensitivity After Surgery

Postby dirtman1993 » Sat Apr 02, 2016 9:13 am

How many men find their skin is very sensitive after surgery and the incision has healed? I find the area where the pump/release is the skin is very sensitive to touch. Pressing on the pump /release will cause some pain after and need to know if this is something that we all go through. Right now I have slowed the effort to inflate due to the sensitivity of the skin. Getting a little better but still there. My surgery was march 2nd.
Implanted March 2nd by Dr. Kramer with AMS/LGX. Had a problem lower left (scar tissue) and he placed a larger (thicker) implant as you can here on the YouTube video. Got all back, ED over 10 years before Implant.

I had some pain/discomfort from pressing the deflate button.
It gradually got better and eventually disappeared.
If I remember right, by 4 weeks - where you are - the pain was very mild, if any, and didn't cause me to not being able to pump/deflate.
But we're all different, and you shouldn't be too concerned I think. It is natural that the skin will go through some sort of period where it gets used to the new stress.

Unless your pump is attached to the skin, in a way that you can't 'roll' the skin over the pump.
That is, according to Dr. Eid, a sign of a possible infection.

This is what I had with my first implant as the pump was permanently stuck to the skin, though I never developed an infection. However during the revision Eid noticed that there was some yellowish cloudy liquid around the pump with white blood cells. So at some point there might have been a small amount of bacteria that was taken care of by the body / antibiotics.
Developed ED at 32.

I started cycling on day 17. So my experience may not be directly analogous to yours. But, for the first two of three days of cycling, the area around the pump was very painful when I was pumping. After that I had no more pain. I chalked it up to the fact that the area of the scrotum was not used to being squeezed and just needed to toughen up.

And this should go without saying, but make sure to keep your fingernails closely trimmed.

I had an infra-pubic implant procedure, but, while the skin on my scrotum was no prob;em, the skin on my penis was anything from completely numb to hyper-sensitive. The practitioners told me that it is often a result of the surgery where the nerves go into shock (they used a more technical term). It all got back to normal after six months.

While I'm sure this may be different, the nerves themselves may be affected; having nothing to do with pain after surgery. Hope this helps.

I had a similar issue, the surgeon could not deflate me in 2 post op visits.
I took a hot bath and I was able to deflate myself, I did this for a week.
It will pass once you get to know the pump.
Goof luck

I am going on 11 weeks tomorrow and my scrotal skin gets more sore with pumping than it did at first. Some say it will get accustomed but I only seemed first few weeks now going the other way. There are times I take 1 to 2 days off pumping because it is too damn sore to do it.
