physical activity ie bicycle riding, motorcycle etc
for guys with implants...does having a 3 piece implant cause any isuue in riding bikes? motorized or not. also, are there any other activities or sports that may cause issues/pain/discomfort? thanks guys
Re: physical activity ie bicycle riding, motorcycle etc
One of the tops docs, Kramer, Eid, Karpman (?), Said that a wide split seat is a MUST on a bike. There was another issue beside comfort but I do not remember what as this was a long time ago we discussed. At the time I did not know split seats were available and the doc said the pointed bike seat actually causes a lot of cases of ED. d

The idea I would need a new bike seat was not on my list of Pre-Op questions, but I replaced my bike seat with a split one from Amazon. At the gym I ride recumbent stationary bike, the up right bike seats bang my pump. Do not know what to do when you have a motorcycle seat unless you get one that allows you to take the pressure off by reclining.

I had my implant mid May and was riding my motorcycle by the end of July with no changes to the seat. I just was real careful getting on!
Re: physical activity ie bicycle riding, motorcycle etc
I was implanted in November 2015 and began riding my bicycle 6 weeks after surgery without any issues until last week. When I began riding after surgery I started out slow and did short distances (20 miles). I did not ride as much as I would have liked this past Spring due to weather and work but I did several 40-50 mile rides. Last week I did a supported group ride that was 116 miles. I felt some discomfort beginning around the 90 mile mark. Since then I have had some tenderness around the rear tips of the implant especially when it is inflated. I did not change my bike saddle (fizik arione) after surgery. But I now am thinking about getting a split channel saddle. Do you think this will make a difference? Or, are 100+ mile rides just going to be an issue? BTW I used to do several 100+ mile rides each summer and fall. For the past two years the ride I just did has been my only 100+ mile ride of the season and I don't have any plans to do anything over 50 miles in the near future.

I have an implant and I have no problem riding a stationary bike at the gym. (And I never understood how men could ride a horse even without an implant without getting their balls banged up.) Ouch!

I ride a motorcycle and have no discomfort but I do feel it in my "seat". If it gets uncomfortable I lean back in the seat a little to take my weight off the implant.
