Australian Implant - REMOVED
I received my implant on 05/08/2016 it was performed by Professor Eric Chung in Brisbane. It has now been 4 weeks there is still a little more healing to go but i must say i have not enjoyed this experience and i am hoping for some words of comfort from you guys on here. At the moment i am in no pain it can only be described as constant discomfort. While there is no pain in the scrotal area or where the reservoir was placed my penis is very tender still to the point where it is uncomfortable to stand or walk for periods of time especially at the base. My Dr. deflated me on Friday just gone which has relieved it somewhat but it is still there (He did say there was a little swelling in the penis which makes it feel inflated). While i am sure it will get better i cannot help thinking that maybe an implant wasnt the right decision for me (Is this normal to think that?). I have noticed smaller improvements but i feel like it is not going to get any better and i am always going to be in some form of discomfort.

Re: Australian Implant
I am only 5 weeks post-op, but believe me, it does get better.
I had pain for the first 2 weeks and tenderness for 4 weeks.
I am now at the discomfort stage, but even this is rapidly fading...everyday, I feel a little better than the day before...soon, at the 6 week mark, I expect to get the green light to go back to my workout routine and most importantly, to once again make love to my wife.
Hang in there, it will get better.

Re: Australian Implant
Is it normal for the shaft to be tender once the bruising has subsided? Especially at the base of the penis
Re: Australian Implant
You're right in there! Yup, it gets way better; and pretty soon for you.

I have to agree with the rest. It gets better. Don't have regrets. I am 18+ months out and believe when I say it's one of the best thing I have ever done for both my wife and myself. Keep us posted.

Yes, the base of the shaft can still be tender even though the bruising has gone...if I keugel as if stoping the flow of urine, I can really feel the cylinders used in my implant...
If you have concerns or questions about your recovery, I urge you to contact your doc to get some answers from him/ her directly...trust me, when I felt like my reservoir had slipped, I went to the emergency room and had the on-call urologist come in on a Sunday evening!
Turns out, nothing was wrong at all...except for my runaway imagination...but I did feel more confident after having my questions answered by the on-call urologist!!!

Re: Australian Implant
From my experience and reading those of others, you are right on track. You did not make the wrong choice, and even though it seems like it should be just a minor procedure, after all you spent only one night in hospital (did you?), it is a highly invasive, major operation and will take a corresponding amount of time to heal. It will all be well, it just takes patience. I had my surgery in May 2015 and it was at least 8 weeks until I was healed enough for inflation, and it hurt a little even then. I still get a bit of discomfort in my glans if i pump too hard. You're good, don't worry.

What a roller coaster of emotions this is!!!! 2 days ago I was pain free and went to see the dr who said everything was looking good. I told him about the pain not being present and he told me "it will be worse tomorrow" sure enough the last 2 days have been absolutely agony and discomfort with shooting pains around the glans and the base of the shaft. I really don't know how much more I can take. I am 5 weeks post op to the day.

Re: Australian Implant
Pretty good weekend just a few moments of pain & discomfort. Starting to think maybe I'm turning a corner as it doesn't seem as bad and sleeping is easier. Still no word on activation date yet and to be honest I'm not going to push it. It will take as long as it takes.
