again, thanks for all your comments! at this point i'm inclined to believe the degree of trauma i experienced is not at all typical and clearly unnecessary. sadly some others here have have similar bad luck, but for me at least there isn't much discomfort now altho sometimes during the night it hurts for a couple hours for no apparent reason. of course here at day 12 i'm still pretty tender all over.
on the upside i'm cautiously optimistic about the long term. ultimately i expect to heal fully and even though i'm still in mourning over the size i lost permanently during years of ed prior to surgery, i'm hoping the implant is appropriately sized and will eventually give me back most if not all of whatever potential i have left
there are three issues i'm dealing with now. first is just having to deal 24/7 with a partial stiffy. once i can leave my gun in the holster when i'm not using it my life will be a lot easier. second, i feel psychologically ready to start cycling a little but i'm having problems because the skin in my lower scrotum is now extremely thick in places and it's hard to get a good grip on things. i'm guessing the thickening might be sediment from all the blood that drained in there that my body hasn't been able to clear out yet. once again i can only wait and hope this improves over time. and last, urination. the first day i had an overpowering urge to piss every 20-30 minutes all day and all night and could only manage a few spasmotic squirts during each episode. i didn't experience what i would describe as pain in the classic sense, it's more like the normal sensation of urine flowing thru my urethra magnified 1000 times. very intense! and with my flag at continuous half-mast i have to use my shower stall and rinse when i'm done. things have improved since the then but i still need to go every hour or two. I assume the frequency of need is due to pressure on my bladder from the reservoir and, like everything else, will improve over time.

It looks pretty much like mine did. After the second week there was considerable change. Are you using ice? If you see your Dr. Tue. I am sure he will tell you much the same.

I will weigh in to say that mine did not look like this. I will share that the stiffness was very similar. I'm glad it's getting better and that you are seeing your urologist on Tuesday. My first thought was to write that you should see your urologist immediately, but one of the reasons that this site is so great is that you received comforting words right away from all of the good guys here.
PS. Great idea on your modification of the Fruit of the Looms. I wish I had thought of that after my procedure. Maybe you should take up creating a line of briefs . . .

I sure hope that heals up well. My first thought when I saw it was OMG. I contacted a doctor (I haven't had my surgery yet) and he said that none of his patients ever look like that. He suggested that maybe you were on blood thinners. Is that the case?

We all look and heal differently after an IPP. As I have not seen many post-op IPP I can only compare to mine.
You need to show us what your look like every three months or so, less you scare people off. Six months post-op and I looked normal again.
Hang in there, the best is yet to come.

day 13: swelling continues to abate, which has led to a new discovery. now that my scrotum is no longer the size and shape of a grapefruit, it's assumed an odd asymmetry. i decided to try out the pump but the scrotal skin is so thick in places and there are so many lumps in there it's hard to get a good grip on anything. i managed to get it up and down a couple notches but had to stop because it hurt pinching the skin between the bulb and my thumb. i'll work on it a little every day and see if i can develop better technique. practice practice practice

Now that my swelling has dissipated, my scrotum has a third lump...for the pump. I have a right and left testicle AND a large middle lump where my pump is located...kinda looks like this...uUu

johbaldbg: . . . blood thinners.
don't take anything like that so i've been trying to figure out why the discoloration goes up my hips and down my thighs. it occurred to me it may be from the internal bleeding after i got home on day 2. i alternate sleeping on both sides and maybe some of that blood was draining thru those tissues as i slept. in any case that purple is starting to turn yellow so i'm looking forward to taking some pix that don't frighten people

It looks defo much better. And what about mid, upper shaft?
Re: 1 wk post-op. is this normal?
my pump was placed on the right side of my sac - that side is definitely still more swollen than the rest of my junk. . . . I called my doc's office yesterday to make sure things were okay since I am able to locate the bulb of the pump but not able to do much in the way of pulling the whole thing down in the sac. Nurse said the skin/sac will be tighter and more swollen for a while (i'm three weeks out from surgery tomorrow) and to just keep doing what I'm doing. Sounds like you're at about the same point. Don't rush things - that would be my advice.. . . you definitely look better from the swelling.
