Wow. There was a picture on one of the threads on this forum that showed the results of an implant done by Dr. Kansas. It was scary. The guy was swollen up like a balloon and was terribly bruised. Several of the guys on this board were aghast. I actually sent the pic to Dr. Kramer asking him if this were normal and was I to expect that. He assured me it wasn't normal. He did not badmouth Dr. Kansas and stated that he's heard that he's a very good surgeon. He wondered if the patient was on blood thinners. Just come perspective.

dr bryan kansas austin tx

let me begin my saying that bryan kansas is a great guy personally. he's polite and projects an upbeat and positive attitude that's sincere and earnest without a hint of arrogance or condescension. he'll take time to address questions and really makes you feel like you're in this thing together! i want to say up front psyched123 had an excellent experience with him.

and he certainly accomplished the primary objective. as far as i can tell he installed the appropriate size prosthesis and i'm optimistic about a positive ultimate outcome. from that standpoint the surgery was a success.

other than that i had several problems. the first thing i noticed is that the infrapubic incision is crooked and bunched at one end. just sloppy. during the 20hrs before my first postop visit i lost half a liter of blood. he withdrew the drain tube even tho i was still bleeding 10cc/hr, knowing that blood was going to pool in my penis, scrotum, and lower abdomen. he explained that the longer the tube remained the greater the risk of infection, but he left a quarter-inch open wound that continued to bleed for three days until i glued it shut myself. not my job that. and all the bleeding that followed turned my penis and scrotum into purple balloons as you can see from the pictures below taken about a week postop. when dr kansas saw them he nodded and reassured me it was typical and nothing to be concerned about. well, i wasn't reassured and i'm not convinced it was at all necessary. the surgeons i hear about who use scrotal incisions typically leave such little bleeding there's no need for a drain tube at all. i'm curious why the practice isn't standardized to avoid it.

now i have adhesion issues with the pump. it's hung up horizonally just below my penis with the bulb sticking out in front. i understand this is likely a result of all the blood that pooled in my scrotum for weeks. i guess this problem can sometimes resolve itself but i'm past six weeks postop and it hasn't budged. kansas was willing to go in again infrapubically and correct things but there's no way i'm going thru that again and i don't understand why he wants to go in above my penis to fix something under my penis. and i'm leaving the country in a few weeks anyway so i'm stuck with this third ball sticking out in front until it resolves or i return in a year. so it goes.

the bottom line is, my bionic dick goes up and down. but there has to be an easier way to get one.

Panhead has been reborn evidently as boulder, from the look of it (correct me if I'm wrong boulder), had surgery from cornell, eid, kramer, and they all couldn't "get the job done" because of "pain" issues and hates them all (eid and kramer obviously best in the world level guys but "botched" all these guys). Then someone in florida fixed it. That's all fine, but why all the bad mouthing- chronic implant pain for a year, the answer probably would be to go to a pain specialist wouldn't it? just my 2 cents.

I just got back from Baltimore.Dr.Kramer just performed nothing less than a miracle on me.There is no way in hell that he botched 5 other men's surgeries. This guy is the complete deal and then some.Sorry you had a bad experience and I am surprised it was with Kramer but there are just to many dudes on this board who has had worked done by Kramer who will attest to what a stand up guy he is.And assuming that what you say is correct on your own individual case then I would guess that 1 out of thousands is a pretty damn good ratio putting him at about 99% accuracy rate.

Well I had MD Paul Perito do mine this past February. We had talked at length a couple of times about the surgery and cars I thought we were bonding (NOT SO). I called a couple of months after words on his new cell # he gave me. The first time I reached him he said to call back the next day at 4 which I did only to get his secretary asking what the emergency was. I told her no emergency I just had a couple of questions. The doctor called back and I said (kidding my wife says it's smaller than it was in the hospital) he said " I can't believe this shit" and I said EXCUSE ME and then said " I can't believe this fuc____ shit I spending my time on this while I've got patients waiting" I said good bye!!
Mind you I did have a couple of real questions that we didn't get to obviously.
Speaking to the outcome he did a good job and the recovery was great 5 weeks and I was back using. Mind you I was in excellent shape going in.
This has been really bothering me and now that I've said what I feel I feel much better.
He's a JERK but he does good work!

Roninhouston you couldn't have said it any better then Robert Cornell himself who I truly believe you are!

Everything I have said about Robert Cornell is on his website or can be Googled. Sorry all those good doctors implanted so many but collectively could not fix you.
On the other hand, 13 months IPP Post-Op, am extremely pleased and stand by my recommendation of Dr. Cornell as one of the best.
I always get a chuckle when you conspiracy theorist think Dr. Cornell implanted an AMS CX on himself....and posted on FT his journals of Pre-Op and Post-Op experiences. Even one of Dr. Cornell patient posted on FT I am not him.
I take it as a complement that my postings on FT seem to come from a medical background, sorry just a retired registered professional engineer who found a doctor to mechanically make my dick work again.

I had extremely good results with Dr. Michael Gross in Plano, TX. He implanted both of mine, the first one was in 2009 and when it failed last year he implanted a AMS 700 LGX in August of 2015. I had virtually no swelling and no bruising both times. If this one fails sometime in the future I will be going back to him.

Mt Sinai, NYC guy I saw was so bad.
He had glowing reviews except for 1 or 2
Plus negative 1 I wrote
He tried to find out what I was charge for Tri-mix I can only guess he was trying to
see what he could get from his patients.
Never got any suggestions or recommend that I get an implant or not.
He was focused on the cost of tri-mix

I told him I came for a diagnose not to discuss what I paid for Tri-mix.
He still kept pushing for cost, so I walked out.

I should have reported him to see if I could have prevented him from getting paid.
Thinking of getting implant. Have not done it because of the length I
have lost.

does anyone know Dr. Gelman in orange county ca? Looks like he has done about 1000 and has low infection rates, but he doesn't go into results like Eid or the others. Your thoughts?
ED for 20 years. Used injections successfully until 2015. Injections no longer work. Some scarring from injections. Viagra etc never worked. PCa in 2009, treated with radiation. So far so good but between injections and radiation penis lost about 1 inch.

Dr. Douglas Milam performed my surgery at Vanderbilt six weeks ago.. The technique was infrapubic. I had Milam do another minor urologic surgery earlier in the year. Both surgeries went off without a hitch, so his surgical skills are fine. He told me he performs around 100 implants a year. However, don't expect to have much pre or post interaction with him. Your follow-up's are usually with nurse practioners at the hospital's urologic clinic.
