Patience is your best friend during the healing post op period...

When I could finally feel the pump, I could not feel the release button as the "mass" of swollen tissue above the pump essentially hid that portion of the implant...but it will dissipate with time...just be patient.

I am 8 weeks post op and the difference between being able to feel the pump and then finally finding the release button was like two weeks due to the swelling...

Sounds like you are on track to a full recovery...just give it time...and ask questions on Frank Talk...I know this is a great resource to see how others have traveled the journey that you are on...

Thanks to all of you guys for the encouragement. It's so valuable to have guys that can understand what I'm going through, both physically and mentally.

I actually did some massaging after a hot shower yesterday and was able to loosen up the tissue surrounding the pump, and I was able to engage the deflate tabs for the first time. It was such a breakthrough! I then pumped up to about 60%, then deflated again. I feel like this things just might work out!

It seems we have a lot in common. I'm just one year older, was implanted just 5 days after you, and have suffered from venous leak my entire life. So far I've been happy with my implant, even though it's not that easy. Pain fluctuates quite a bit, but what annoys me the most is that my implant won't stay deflated. I can inflate it without problem or too much pain, but no matter how much I deflate it, some fluid goes back in and I'm left with a permanent semi-erection. Quite uncomfortable and embarrassing...

I hear it all gets better over time and many of the issues that we initially experience will progressively disappear with time. We just need to hang in there. We'll get used to operating the implant and hopefully we'll get to enjoy it a lot. We just need to remember that things will steadily improve over the next few months.

And you can rely on the love and support of your wife, which I'm sure will help a lot throughout the journey!

Take care

Wow, we really do have a lot in common. I'm experiencing the exact same thing! I feel fully deflated, but then I walk around and a few seconds later, I've got a semi. I'm glad to hear that's fairly normal.

Autoinflation right after surgery is not unusual. For me, fully deflating and wearing snug, stretchy briefs seemed to help keep it deflated. I wore Evolve by 2Xist from Target for several weeks and that seemed to train the reservoir.
I am sixty-six years of age and dealing with gradually worsening ED for twenty years. At sixty-three I wanted something that worked reliably. I got an AMS 700 LGX implant in 6/25/13. I am entirely pleased with the outcome. My surgeon was Dr. Karpman.
