What actually causes rigidity?

Postby Lost Sheep » Mon Oct 03, 2016 11:19 pm

As I understand it, with a natural erection, blood pressure powers the erection and it is the relatively inelastic structure of the tunica albuginea which provides the rigidity.

With an implant, the pressure of the salne powers the erection. Is it the structure of the tunica albuginea or the structure of the inflatable tubes of the implant or a combination of the two which provides the rigidity?

I ask, because of my reading the unfortunate experiences with the AMS Ultrex (predecessor to the AMS LGX). and the differences in reported stiffness between the AMS products and the Coloplast Titan in both the flaccid and inflated states.

It's a mystery. (To quote "Shakespeare in Love")

Lost Sheep,
The rigidity (stiffness) is provided by two things ... the cylinders and the saline pressure from pumping.

Reading about discontinued products (Ultrex) does not provide the answers you are looking for ... Yes there is a difference in stiffness between AMS and Titan. In the flaccid state the AMS give a more natural look ... in the erect state it depends on your size. If you are in the well endowed group you probably should select the Titan.

Although I'm +7" erect with a LGX and after 4 yrs. I have no issues over stiffness ... either model will give you the satisfaction you are looking for.
