Little background info. I am 68 years old, white male, gay, live in NE Ohio and use the VA (Veterans’ Affairs) for my health care. My surgery was last Monday, (10/03), at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. My surgeon was Dr. Rusilko from UPMC Mercy Hospital (VA paid him to due surgery), and Dr. Tennyson, resident urology surgeon at the VA Hospital.
Never seen or met my surgeon. The resident doctor talked with me before the surgery. The implant was AMS 700 LGX Penile Prosthesis. After the surgery asked the resident what the readings were for the implant. She said it was 18 up and 2 down. From what I have read, I do not thing the reading she gave me are correct. She said I should be very happy with the out come. I am in the process of removing the bandage now to see what is under it. The incision, about three inches, was made above the penis, in the pubic area, right at the base of the penis. Just looked at the info pack that I was given about my implant and from what I see now, my Implanting Surgeon was Dr. Davies. I have now idea who he is.. HeHe (The VA???)
So, what do things look like right now. My scrotum is the size of a grapefruit, have located the pump, been pulling down on it as I was told to do, seems to move around a lot, can feel the deflation block, tubing, and pump bulb. At the end of surgery, the doctor inflated my penis a little. WOW have had a erection for over 96 hours. HeHe Penis looks like two squished marshmallows with a mushroom on top. The circumcision scar is causing this effect. As to the scrotum, I have heard of “blue balls” but now mine are. It will all clear up in time. I try to put ice gel packs on my scrotum and penis at lease for twenty minutes, four times a day.
A catheter was put in during surgery and when it was removed the day after surgery, I thought someone was pulling razor blades through my urethra. It really hurt. Then they wanted me to piss and my penis said , No Way!. It was really hard to let go, but I did. Strange feeling, piss with a erection. I can not remember the last time I felt that. And it has been different walking around my apartment with one for the last four days. Love it. I am on Hydrocodone for pain. I am taking two or three a day. Don’t want to use them to much but don’t like the pain either. Have been using the Acetaminophen PM at night.
Trying to work up the nerve to take a picture and post it on here. Have to think about it a little more. Overall, I am very please with what has happened up to now. When I do it again, yes! If you have an questions or comments, let me know. You can send me a private message if you want. Thanks for reading, not much of a writer, hope you are having a great day.

Everything sounds good. Increasing time between pain pills little by little will be the next step. The doc said absolutely no playing with the new toy for six weeks for mine. Congrats for making the bold move and joining the bionic club!!
