There was nothing in discharge instructions about cycling from Dr. Kramer for me either. I've gotten most of my information from here and I send Dr. Kramer a LOT of Email questions that he is very good about answering.

Doctor pumped mine the first time he did 3 pumps and said that was good enough.
I could not tell if he was doing full pumps. Some guy squeezing my balls had me distracted

Gees, just three pumps??

Mine seems inconsistent. Sometimes the little pump feels almost like a marble and then others, not so much.

I have also posted this in the thread about "JB's Implant Journey" because it is appropriate there too.

I am 38 days post-op and still dealing with soreness. It is my understanding that one can have soreness up to three months as you cycle and stretch the penis out to its maximum length.

But, I am having an inconsistent number of pumps when I cycle. There are times I've pumped 50 times and still don't have a "marble" for a bulb. Last night, I pumped about 6-8 times and it was difficult to press the bulb and I had an erection! I am going to check more closely, but it seems I usually have about the same erection at 15 or 50 pumps.

Per doctor's instructions, I always wait a minute after inflation and then try to do just a few more to really stretch it out. This will help me regain length. I can usually tell a bit of added discomfort after those extra stretches with is a good indication.

But last night, after the 6-8 pumps I was able to start pumping again and do a lot more pumps. I didn't really see any difference in hardness but I could pump.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Oh, one other problem is that with so many pumps twice a day, my scrotum is getting kind of sore where I have to squeeze. Ouch.

Honestly, that sounds strange to me.

I have never once gotten the same hardness after 10 pumps as after 20, never ever the same hardness after 20 as after 30, etc.
This is something that is constant. It is a linear correlation between #of pumps and hardness.

I would say there is either some malfunction with your implant, or it's your perception. Maybe you are not equally hard? Maybe you do actually only get in about 10 pumps, and everything after that is just dry pumping adding no further saline in your cylinders? Maybe you don't start from the same point each time, meaning your deflation level varies a lot from time to time?

Well, I HOPE it's just my perception because I'd hate to think I had a defective LGX!! I was wondering about dry pumps and am not sure what I would be doing to cause that. I try to pause between pumps so the bulb can refill. Sometimes I have wondered if any saline was flowing in, though. When the bulb pumps easier it doesn't seem like saline if flowing. Hmm.

I do think I get deflated all the way, though. Hmm. :(

jonbaldbg , I at first had issues with my LGX where I could pump 150 pumps and never be really hard. It took Extremely hard and fast pumps to get it to where it would pump up hard at 30 pumps and still quirky for 2-3 months. Then it would do two pops to load so it would pump. Now it mostly pumps like I would expect. Only exception is after a few minutes rest after pumping it up sometimes the bulb is squishy soft for about 6-7 strokes, then pumps, sometimes after a rest it will be flat for about 2 tries then start pumping, sometimes it is so rock hard I cannot squeeze it with 2 hands. I think I have tubing kink issues sometimes. I was told at first to pull the pump around and move my penis back and forth and that did help a lot. Pump dropped down lower after a popping sound pumping October 5th and I've had a lot less issue since and tubing does not seem to have the curls in it like it did. At first I could feel the tubes going down the inside of the cavernosa too. Kind of zigzag but they are straight now. I think LGX tends to have quirks like the Coloplast. Soft plastic does not seem to be a good product to make valves out of but I do not think anyone would appreciate a big chunk of stainless steel inside instead. Keep working at it. First doc I saw could not get it to work to well, second did then I go back to our son's house and it would not work the next try but did again later. I really think this thing takes about 2-3 months of working it to smooth out from my experience and a couple guys I talked to.

LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

Thanks alibaba,

Since this post, my experience has changed a little. Now, at first, the pump seems difficult to pump. Then it pumps but takes a good bit of effort, but it isn't like a marble yet. It seems I start to get pretty hard in just a few pumps. Sometimes then the pump will get easy to pump for a few times but goes back to being a firm pump. I can put 30 in and could probably go more but I don't see much difference in that and 15 pumps in terms of hardness. I hope this thing gets consistent. I'd hate to think I'd have to have it replaced or that something as expensive with such a good reputation as AMS would have a common defect.

I think there's a wide range of number of pumps required for inflation. It only takes me 6 or 7 small (not wall-to-wall) pumps to get mine plenty hard. It's more difficult for me to get it soft enough than to get it hard enough.
