Started a journal shortly after I decided to do the surgery on Sept 6th, 2016. To summarize, its been a huge learning curb for me, possibly because I didn't research on my own thoroughly and maybe my doctor is more of a surgeon than an educator.
At any rate, I have overcome some initial difficulties with the inflation. I have the technique down and the bulb has seemingly softened. At this point I've been experiencing difficulty with deflation. I have been getting some guidance from several posters on the forum who I reached out to after noticing some similar issues on old posts they wrote.
In a nutshell (no pun intended) I am still trying to identify how much residual fluid normally remains in the tubes so that I am not chasing an unrealistic result. For me, right now, I feel like I'm doing too much work, squeezing and trying to direct fluid downward from the head and it's not cooperating; its wanting to come back as if there is nowhere for it to go or the "drain" is not completely open (to use an analogy.)
Regarding soreness in the head, it is uncomfortable at times when my dick is standing straight in my underwear and in certain seated positions the fabric tightens to press it straight back into my crotch. I attribute this to feeling too full of fluid. For me, it feel like the penis is lined with rigid but bendable cartilage (somewhat like my normal erect penis when I was functioning optimally.)
Contrasting this description; I have read some posters describe that they flatten their penis "like a pancake" or a "flattened tire tube" and they do it within 8 seconds or so.
Some posters also describe that they are pressing the button while squeezing.
I'll have to get to where I can do that because so far I am giving a strong squeeze for 5 seconds and then releasing the thumb and middle finger while I squeeze. If I don't use my free had to secure the cylinder while I am squeezing it will slip from between my fingers. Perhaps I am squeezing too hard but that's because the doctor and other posters indicated it takes a hard squeeze to activate the titan touch deflation button (and for at least 5 seconds.) Further, my doctor told me that once I activated the deflation button I could release the cylinder and begin squeezing with both hands.
PS:
It just so happens I got a pretty good deflation last night. Don't ask me how. I was just experimenting.
One poster actually suggested I try squeezing and pressing on the bulb one time. I did it and then I squeezed what I thought was the wrong part of the cylinder and somehow I got a better deflation than I have ever had!
The penis sort of flopped over like a rag. I never thought I would be so happy with that result! Anyhow I have hope that I'm getting closer though I still have no idea what method I used to attribute to my success!
My guess is that either the simultaneous squeeze and bulb compression worked to activate the deflation button OR I was never squeezing the proper ends of the cylinder in the first place. A third possibility comes to mind; possibly the squeeze I performed on the cylinder itself (albeit not on the button end) caused the deflation button to activate.

Glad to hear that you have had success, topdog...it gives me hope! I had implant on October 26, 2016 and have been having the same problem with the Titan. My dick points constantly at 3:00 and is quite stiff, annoying and uncomfortable most of the time. I feel like the tubes are ready to protrude right thru the sides but most of the swelling is gone.
I haven't seen my doctor since surgery so I've never tried (nor know how) to inflate (cycle?) as yet. Surgeon must be very busy. I had to beg to see him sooner than 2 months + after surgery. I go back tomorrow for "preflight training". They originally had me scheduled for January 3, 2017 but they made an exception since my 50th wedding anniversary is December 26, 2016 But from what I read on this board, everything is going about as normal.
Were you able to "use" it shortly after learning to inflate? I'm hoping to be able to use it before I'm too old to remember how!!!

I've had a Titan since 2008 ( pre-Touch) and have never been able to deflate it as much as I'd prefer. However, I've long since gotten used to it as you no doubt will as well. I'd guess it's probably less of a nuisance for somebody on the smaller side such as myself, though.

Re: Deflation issues titan touch
The TItan Touch deflate valve has a latching operation.
Squeeze it a little and it will do a momentary drain which turns off when you release.
Squeeze it hard (see your keychain) and it latches (stays in the drain position).
This could cause refill so you have to unlatch it when deflated by pressing the pump once.
I'll tell you more in 12 days.
cheers

Hi adbass:
Well you are still new and I have found there is a big learning curve to arrive at a satisfactory comfort level. The good news is there are a few members here that have been super helpful to me that have already gone through what you're experiencing and are doing fine. I'm not there yet but I will keep on trying.
If you want to, feel free to PM on issues and I will refer you to a couple of members here who were particularly knowledgeable and helpful to me.

Well if that is so I am floored but grateful. Grateful that you shared the technique but floored that my doctor nor any piece of literature or DVD instruction would NOT have this important piece of information!?
Would you mind sharing the source or is this some anecdotal advice you heard from someone?
Re: Deflation issues titan touch
Had my return visit with the doctor today and was delighted that following the demo of inflation and deflation, I/we were able to deflate my penis to a much greater extent than since surgery. Whew! It's still a bit rigid but so much better than before. He said I needn't worry about inflating and deflating daily as I have read here. According to him I should just inflate for a short period of time a couple times a week. Further, he said I would gain size, both girth and a slight amount of length over the next year and also a straightening of the curvature I have had for decades.
Any thoughts of the inflation and deflation only a couple times a week? Doesn't seem to jibe with what I've read on this chat board.

Everybody seems to have their own ideas about inflation, and the whole notion of "inflation protocol" seems to be fairly recent. When I got my Titan in 2008 there was no mention of any inflation protocol, either in the discharge instructions or verbally. I lost no length as a result of the surgery, and never followed any set inflation/deflation program - I just pumped it up now and then for a couple of minutes. My healing was uneventful and the outcome was as perfect as it could have been.

Topdog,
merrix who wrote my original bible was the first source.
I also looked up images of the valve mechanism which corroborates this. The wedge design make the latch happen. Quite ingenious.
cant wait to try it.

Dr. Kramer didn't have postop instructions for inflating either. I asked him though and he said to keep it inflated 5-10 minutes and the important thing was to wait a minute or so after inflating and then get a few more pumps in if possible.
I've seen guys on this board inflate for an hour in the morning and at night. I usually do 20 minutes, maybe 30.
