edex injections

Hi,

I saw my uro today and asked about injections, told him i read about trimix and bimix, he suggested edex, says it pretty much guarantee's an erection. I noticed it is pretty expensive. He gave me a two shot sample which i will try tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone has had any results with edex or found it cheap anywhere on line? Or another other comments regarding edex would be helpful.

Never used Edex, but have used Trimix for 2.5 years now. It works very well and costs a fraction of Edex. I don't need a gadget to do the injection...just the syringe does fine. I would give the Trimix a shot (pun intended). My insurance pays for a good portion of the Trimix but nothing for Edex or any of the other mechanical devices. Good luck.

My insurance does not cover the injections drugs. Edex is Caverject and yes it is expensive. Trimix and Bimix are much cheeper. My Uro expressed less of a chance for having to make an ER run with a 4 hr hard on. Also said less likely to develope peronies with Aplrostidal. if you Dr will agree you can get a script for the generic form and have it filled at the compond pharmacy.

Despite the label's ass-covering warnings about single-dose-only, use immediately, and such, EDEX actually keeps just fine in the fridge just like Trimix does. This means that you can buy a much stronger dose than you need (costing little more than the weaker dose) and only use part of it each time. I need 4ug, so I buy the 20ug dose and get 5 hits out of each vial. Even my urologist said this was OK as long as I was careful to use proper antiseptic procedures to avoid infection, meaning: check liquid in vial for crystalline clarity in bright light before using and discard if cloudy (indicator of bacterial growth), wipe vial's rubber septum with alcohol swab before each use, pull air into syringe before inserting into vial to overpressure vial with air, put vial right back in fridge inside of a second closed container, and never touch the septum. I've been doing this for 7 years and have never had an infection or a contaminated vial.

Hopefully you won't need this advice as everyone reacts differently, but if you react like I did be prepared for a painful 2 hours. Edex and Caverject are prostaglandins alone and in some men like myself can be painful. The injections are not as bad as Muse. You might consider taking some aleive or advile before injecting. Bimix does not contain any PGF and Trimix a much smaller amount than Edex or Caverect and are less painful. However; you need a compounding pharmacy for both. Hope things go well and you are pain free.

I would but I needed most of the Edex 20 dose. I solved the expense problem by asking my doctor for a script of 80 mg/ml of alprostadil. I then take the script to a compounding pharmacy and buy generic. it comes in ten 1 ml vials for $120 which provides a bunch of shots. I keep it frozen as alprostadil, in the liquid form, is quickly degraded at room temp. I did use the Edex for a good while. I like the stuff from the compounding pharmacy better.
