To have or have not the OTR

Postby Boca Grande » Thu Jan 12, 2017 9:18 am

I'm seeing a Coloplast surgeon next week. I expect to have an option to have or to have not the OTR (one touch release). What are the pros and cons for this choice? Going by the name, I would think there is the possibility of deflation during sex. Is this realistic or highly unlikely?

Boca
There are several YouTube videos, one from Dr. Kramer comparing the 2, another from Dr. Perito. I just had surgery last Thursday and opted for the Titan OTR. My reason, the Titan is more rigid and from what I surmised less cylinder failure or blow outs. I may be wrong but almost all the blown out cylinders I've saw were the AMS. They both had advantages and disadvantages, for one the AMS appears more natural in the flaccid state, less rigid, but both are very reliable devises and continue to be improved. I think both brands claim a life of 10-15 years, and most will have a pump or line failure, not issues with the cylinder, remember these are mechanical devises and nothing last forever. The most important thing is finding a very experienced and competent doctor which should result in a very successful outcome.

Sam,
Thanks for your response, but I'm not trying to decide between Coloplast and AMS. I'm sure I'll be going with Coloplast for the same reason you gave. My question was really between the Coloplast Titan® and the Coloplast Titan® OTR (one touch release).

You can go to Coloplast.com and their site list the FAB - features-advantages-benefits of each. The new OTR if memory serves me has a lockout feature to prevent auto fill, and easy one touch deflate.

I have an OTR and it is a year-and-a-half since it was put in and it works great. I press it for a second and I don't even have to squeeze my penis; it goes down by itself.

My AMS 700 CX MS does the same and never any backfill. 8-) 8-) With both you have to really press the deflate button (once you find it ) Deflation during sex is unlikely (unless she rides you like a cowgirl )
