I know you also had the infrapubic surgery, when did your doc approve you taking bathes? I don't think I have any stitches except internal, the sugical incesion was closed with glue. All I can tell you is the warm bath water was awesome, zero pain and it seemed to reduce all the swelling. Today was 8 days and the doctor said I could take showers after 48 hours and I could do soaking bathes 1 week post-op. I actually feel rejuvenated, just finished 2nd round. I never remember being this excited to draw a tub just to set in it by myself, wow!!!!! Don't judge me guys, this was the 1st complete relief I've had since the surgery.

Good for you Sam. One week after my revision that left much swelling, doctor Knoll said no more ice and two sitz baths a day. I think Dr. Eid in NY does something similar at the one week point, except maybe 3 a day.

HOT BATH: I wanted to give a report, I took two sit bathes, at least 30 minutes each starting this afternoon. I feel so much better since doing this. The ice packs gave relief, but nothing compared to the relief of the warm water. Most of the swelling has subsided and most of the soreness as well. Make sure your doctor approves, spoke to mine and he said bath was ok after 1-week post-op. Can't say everyone will have the same dramatic results I have, but I would suggest you try, thanks to X-O Man, Donnie and Jon who suggested I do so. This is why this forum is so informative for its members. I trust those who've gone thru the same procedure to make suggestions and have found there are lots of men on here that just want to pass along the favor they received.

Day 9: Been a better day overall, very little pain and no need for pain meds. I actually just got back from a 1 hour drive, not real comfortable, but doable. This is about the distance 1 drive each day to commute to work, so I know what to expect. I plan to continue the hot baths again today and tomorrow and think I should continue to improve. Everyone have a great weekend.

I'm having an AMS implanted on Feb 15th. Not sure what to expect about post op. The surgeon said to rest for a week and after 3 weeks come in and we would play with it. He didn't say anything about leaving it partially inflated after surgery. Now I am wondering about going back to work wearing dress pants and concealing it.

I think most doctors leave it inflated to some degree. Some fully deflated, others maybe 30%. The theory is that if left deflated the scar tissue will encapsulate the cylinders making it more difficult to gain back your length and painful once you start cycling. I could be wrong, this is based off what I've read on various websites. You may get a few looks around the office, even from the guys. I'm pretty sure you can conceal your new friend with good underwear and wear a size looser pants, go up one size. They will all be talking about how you've lost weight, ha!!!! Best of luck on your upcoming journey.

Dr. Kramer leaves patients inflated to 20%. That's a pretty good benchmark. I can't imagine leaving the surgery with full inflation but I'm sure that would help more with the healing. BUT, walking around with a stiffie? Yikes.

If my memory serves me right, I believe the good Rev. said he was pretty erect after surgery. In his forum he said it was driving him mad, but his wife was enjoying the new look. I think like everything we read on here, every doctor has there preferences. As I said, I have the Titan OTR, doctor said the cylinders were about 30% and even that is hard to conceal. It's like walking around with a semi all day, it's pretty rigid and with the new girth it would show if you wore anything tight fitting.

Yes....same here....Dr. Eid leaves the implant partially inflated.....I don't know to what degree but I'm walking around with a semi at 3 o'clock.....I do kind of like it.....I was a grower and I was always concerned about a first impression even though I would grow to 5 & 3/4.....but I like being a shower (I think).....

Day 10: well I continue to improve in the pain and swelling department each day. The 1st week was really tough, but once I started sitting in the hot whirlpool tub at home, it's like I flipped a switch. I know each one of us have a different story after surgery, the healing time, pump placement, scrotal or infrapubic and the end results. I appreciate everyone's post, as its great to get different prospectives, and that's why I continue to post. Hopefully my story helps someone else, just passing along the favor. I return to work tomorrow, first day back and I will be manning a booth at a trade show. I plan to wear good support, aka, XO Jock Strap to help with the weight of my new scrotum, and actually look forward to getting back to normalcy. To all, thanks for your comments, educational and informative post that have been shared.
