Dr. Kramer does not mind getting contacted on the weekend. I've sent him emails, and his response was quick. If he gave you his number, he gave it to you for a reason. Do not be afraid to call.
Did you get the journal I sent to you? I did not travel until the 5th and 6th day, and it was very rough on me. What you are describing sounds like what I went through in those first few days.
Hang in there.

Implant coming soon
Re: Implant coming soon
Gary,
Yes I did get it, In my private messages. You must not have recieved my message back thanking you.Sorry about that I've sent a few other private messages that the guys never received.
The main reason I was going to contact dr Kramer is because Im not as stiff as I was before all this swelling.Im worried that the cylinders may have leaked back into the resivor, or worse yet leaked out.
Thanks for Your journal it has been great. I've read I more than once.

Re: Implant coming soon
Mine did the same; I trust that it is the swelling going down. At first, it was almost like an erection; now, it look like a normal flacid penis, although to pick it up, it is obvious that it is not real flexible at this point. I believe that I am still somewhat inflated, and still have a degree of swelling.
I have read that some men, who fall asleep after sex, so find that their erection had somewhat deflated; none complained about it, they simply finished the deflating, or added a few more pumps if they were ready for round two.
Being a mechanic by trade, I would expect that it would not be a major concern anyway for a little leakage over the course of 3 days. I have no idea what I am talking about related to this pump, but if you think about it, things do need to seat the first time. There could even be an air-bubble trying to find its final resting place in the reservoir, or the little ball bearing used to seal the pump and act as a check valve may not have fully seated.
None of my possible reasons may be correct, or perhaps all of them. I do know that I had the same experience, and suspected nothing less that swelling going down. I look very normal down there now, and suspect it will only get better. 17 days post-op now.
Hang in there.

Re: Implant coming soon
I prefer the way Dr. Kramer handled it. They sent me home to my hotel room with the catheter in and gave me instructions on removing it the next morning, so I climbed in the bathtub and pulled that sucker out. It was very uncomfortable overnight and I really hated it. Took pain pills, but it was over the next morning. My first pee stung a little bit but that got better quickly.
When I had my revision with Dr. Knoll, they removed the catheter after the surgery before I woke up. Then I lay around the room for a few hours and they were going to release me when I could pee. I couldn't. They said that was OK and that "it happens." Finally, after drinking enough fluids, they said they were going to insert a catheter because they didn't want the bladder to burst. DAMN, that hurt when they stuck that thing in. Then I had to wear it until I returned to their office in the morning for the nurse to remove it and then I had to prove I could pee. I did.
My preference? The Kramer way.

I'm still not sure if I made the right decision.I read a lot of the time that guys go back to work in 3 days.Thank god I'm retired lol.
I'm done whining for now.Me and my giant bruised balls are going to lay here and watch my steelers.

Rick P,
Rick,
There is a huge variety of experiences in recovery. Some guys don't have hardly any pain or swelling and others have pain for quite some time and some huge swelling. I didn't have the swelling after my implant but had to deal with some level of pain for a while.
I needed a revision and that time I got the swelling either due to the amount of cutting the doctor had to do in order to fix things, or due to the doctor's technique.
Anyway, the swelling will go down and Dr. Kramer tells me there should be absolutely no pain after 3 months. Hang in there dude.

Re: Implant coming soon
Hang on buddy. It hurts like a bitch and everything about it pisses you off then BOOM, it is not so bad. Hang on tight. Earth is still moving around the sun so time is passing in your favor. Not like your body passes you little notes giving you updates on the healing process.

Re: Implant coming soon
Your body is telling you DON'T WALK AROUND. Drives a guy nuts but take it easy. The more you shakes shit up down there the more pissed it gets. Lay back and read, sleep, watch some moves, plan for summer and keep things settled and healing.
