Are there any men who traveled from Alaska to out-of-state (Seattle, other West Coast specialists or East Coast - Dr Eid, Dr Kramer or Dr Perito) for an implant and returned to Alaska and are willing to relate their experiences medically and with the V.A.? By P.M. or in this thread?
Or anyone who had to travel a long distance by airplane immediately after surgery and were unable to return to the primary surgeon for followup (first activation, etc)

Dr Kramer did my revision on Wednesday and on Saturday I took a 12 hr , 3 legs plus layovers , trip home with no issues

born 1949, Cancer 2014, 1st Implant AMS CX 18 + 3 RTE, Oct 2015 by a Houston Doctor. Left with loss of length, Floppy Glans and pain, a very poor job. Revision in Dec 2016 by Dr. Kramer, 21 + 3 1/2 RTEs, LGX, Regained length, Glans supported and no pain.

merrix, echelon( sp?) and pockie all traveled at least 12 hours if not more. I would not be surprised if they were closer to 20 hours. The last two went home after being released to travel ( 3 days with Kramer, Eid told me 7), merrix stayed a bit longer and let things settle.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

I am also wanting stories of the followup care. Done by phone? Done by local urologist accustomed to implants or the surgeon who did the implant?
The prospect of depending on a textbook recovery for travel on an airplane ticket that is not refundable/reschedulable (or should I spring for a full-fare ticket for the return flight?)
Coordinating preop lab work is a concern for me, too.
Is a travel companion a good idea, necessity or convenience?
And then there is the VA to deal with.
I am trying to choose betwen a local (general) urologist/surgeon or out-of state specialist.
Local is a lot easier and could be ready this month or next. Coordinating all the stuff out-of-state could be problematic, if I can even get the VA to go along.

Go out of state to Kramer if possible as this is one surgery you don't want messed up. Use the best of you may have a regret. Kramer number 1 and Eid 2. Good luck
Implanted March 2nd by Dr. Kramer with AMS/LGX. Had a problem lower left (scar tissue) and he placed a larger (thicker) implant as you can here on the YouTube video. Got all back, ED over 10 years before Implant.

I travelled from South Africa to Germany. After surgery I stayed for six weeks in Germany - then went back to Cape Town. In fact I left Germany shortly after activation.
